Question about 2001 Ford Focus

1 Answer

My 2001 Ford Focus has 147,000 miles on it and sometimes it is hard starting- you have to kinda crank it longer than we use to to get it to turn over. Could this be a tune-up issue- maybe needing new spark plugs and wires or maybe a new starter. The starter was replaced when the car had approx. 18,000 miles on it-it was under warrenty.

And why have you not gone to a repair shop?

It won't get better any time soon & any guess
from a web site won't even help to diagnose
the issue or be of any value, car still has to be tested

My 1995 ford explorer has a hard time starting. I have a new battery and alternator in. Could it be my starter.

Hi,
Sounds kinda vague. Hard starting, like cranking and cranking? Or no cranking?

Car wont start

Could be a lot of things but i would start with the fuel pump. I would say 9 out of 10 time i get a car that cranks fine but wont start it turns out to be a fuel pump. Have the fuel pressure checked and go from there.

Hi, I just need the interval for timing belt change

i think it is 105,000 miles. They go much longer. It is a free wheeling engine in the U S. No damage will occur.
