1996 Town Country Service Engine Soon light

Just got the 2 fan motors going for the engine, cleaned out the dirt and debry in the grill and such, so hoping the vehicle won't overheat any more. Now the Service Engine Soon light came on. What does that mean? What type of services needs to be done?

It indicates that the computer has identified a fault in one of the car's systems. If you have been having overheating issues, there may be some sort of fault identified in the cooling system. Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes stored there. Most parts stores will perform the scan for free and it will help narrow down the cause of the problem. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Where is the camshaft sensor located on 1996 Chrysler town and country lxi

Well the sensor should be on the drivers side just under the valve cover and it looks like a circle with a plug in it.I think your problem though is the timing belt is off a tooth it will run fine but being a tooth off will keep that light on.

Lincoln town car + service engine soon

Service engine soon has nothing to do with service or maintenance . Emission's OBD 2 engine managment system . Light on ! DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored . Your don't know THAT ! Your best bet , take it to the dealer .

When I drive my 1996 town and country chrysler van and I push the gas down the car loses power. It makes a loud banging sound. Sometimes it will start to go a little and **** really hard and then you can...

Has the service engine soon light come on ?

This could be caused by a lot of different things, don't replace parts until you know for sure what the problem is otherwise you will just be throwing your money away,

If the service engine soon light IS on then go to auto zone and have them get the codes, on your year you may have to have them turn the ignition key on and off five times, then count the number of flashes of the service engine soon light and then look up the codes in a haynes repair manual for your specific vehicle.

Service Engine Soon light has just come on after replacing relay for 2 fan motors to cool engine. What does the Service Engine Soon mean? First time seeing this.

It usually indicates that the computer has identified a fault in one of the car's systems. Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes stored there. Most parts stores will perform the scan at no charge. Hope this helped and best wishes.

2 fan motors not cooling the radiator and still overheating

If there was alot of debris, like you stated, it could have clogged the water pump. If you think about it, there really isn't all that much to a cooling system. Radiator, fan, thermostat, and water pump. These are the main components and by process of elimination, I would suspect the water pump. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Fans not turning on my 1996 ChryslerTown and Country

there is a solid state relay located on the frame rail on the drivers side under the air box it has four wires going to it and has most likely failed. there was (or is) a recall on this part and they cost around $40 dollars they are pretty easy to install but make sure to clean the frame rail where the relay bolts down to, and make sure the relay sits flat and has no debris blocking airflow to it as these get very hot and will fail agian if not properly installed -jeff please rate
