Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
When it starts it runs great! But sometimes it won't start. We have changed the fuel pump,,,didn't work. Had a diagnostics done and came back cam and crank sensors. Doesn't make sense. Could it be the ignition switch and how would I know for sure?
Does it just turn over with no signs of firing?? I would have thought that if it were the cam or crank sensors, it would run **** or even break down while driving, You need to perform some tests on the ignition and fuel systems next time when the car refuses to start to make sure you get a good spark (proving ignition switch), fuel is being delivered to the rail (proving fuel delivery), injectors operating (proving ECU) etc etc. You do have a weird one here I`m afraid. Best of luck, Ian
