Is this a security feature that comes with the alarm? because i only that certain cars above 00 can do this. but what might have happened, the old one got damaged some how, and even if its little, it could be enough to not let the key turn in the ignition, or any where in the car. i suggest taking the good key, and making a spare. if it was the alarm, like an alarm feature, you can probably take it to where it was programed, and getting the key reprogrammed. Or you can also just disconnect the battery for like a couple of minutes, and reconnect it so the alarm or security feature will reset. hope this helps, goodluck.

How to open 2005 honda accord trunk release not working

If release lever is not functional, use key. If key will not turn in cylinder, spray WD-40 into cylinder and use sawing motion to get key inserted and continue sawing motion to free up lock wafers internal to cylinder so it will turn with key. If this process is not effective, you will need to remove rear seat to access paneling to trunk lock and open accordinly

What is the lock for down at the drivers seat near the petrol cap release latch?

It locks the lever that opens the trunk of the car so you wont be able to use that lever to open the trunk from inside the vehicle. The master key should fit in it. You will still be able to open the truck with the key on the outside right at the trunk with the key even if you have the lever locked. It's a security thing. I hope this helps.

Where is the valet switch on a 1999 honda accord?

Your Grey key is the valet key.

The Grey key will not open the glove compartment nor the trunk, BUT you have to lock the back shelf and remote trunk release handle in the car, and the glove compartment with the black key first.

Manual key won't unlock doors or trunk

If not the wrong key, maybe the locks are seized from not being used. Over time with humidity, and lubricants drying up inside of the mechanics of the locks they could seize. When inserting the key the pins are not properly moving in to place to allow the tumbler assembly to turn.

Try using some silicon lubrication. Spray in to the lock. Work the key in and out of the lock a few dozen times before attempting to turn. Then spray in some graphite lock lubricant. Insert the key in and out a number of times. Then tap on the key end with something hard like a pliers or something not to heavy or forceful. Then try turning the key. Jiggle it a bit and moving it in and out. Eventually the pins should normally release and position themselves.

If all of the above does not work, then you will need to get a lock smith to assist. Most likely he will be able to get in to the vehicle so he can remove the locks to service them.
