Why does my 2000 Nissan Quest emits humming sound when engine run

Most likely, that is the sound of the FUEL PUMP. If the car is running well, don't worry about it. Try changing your fuel filter to see if that helps (usually does).
If you have trouble with fuel delivery at high speeds or under load, suspect that your fuel pump is about to fail.

Dodge caravan 2001 blowing burning power steering fluid.

I can answer some of your questions without being there in person.
The smell inside the van is from fresh air entering the venting system. Not sure why you don't get it from all vents. The fresh air intake is in front of the windshield and will pick up any smells from the engine compartment.
Loosing the serpentine belt would not necessarily cause you to loose ps fluid, but having a leak could drain the pump and damage the bearings in the pump, causing the pump pulley to drag on the belt.
The ps pump could be in the final stage of failing.
And the shaft seal in the pump could be leaking fluid onto the engine and exhaust.

Only code p0734 2001 caravan

Hi there:
This code means that the transmission is slipping in high gear and the TCM (TRansmission Control Mocule) logic thinks it has incorrect ratio since it monitors input and output speed. Keep in mind that TCM uses input from the input speed sensor and output speed sensor to determine gear ratios. The TCM then compares the known gear ratio to the calculated gear ratio for the current range.

Check HERE test procedure.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

When driving our 2001 montana, the noise gets really loud. Like a loud humming. What could be causing this noise? We had one wheel bearing replaced on the front left wheel which was a little loose, but...

"Loud humming" could describe many of the noises that your minivan may make. Let's start with the basics: do you hear the noise only when the van is in motion or also when the van is stopped? If you can hear the noise even when the van isn't moving, you're most likely looking at something in the engine compartment. Your serpentine belt and the alternator bearings (and, to a lesser likelihood, your power steering pump) are all sources of noise "in there." An A/C compressor on its last legs may also vibrate and cause a humming sound, though that's usually described as more of a "growl."

If you can only hear the noise when the car is in motion, the next question is whether it changes pitch/volume due to engine speed or due to road speed? For example, does the noise get quieter (momentarily, perhaps) when the transmission shifts gears? Or, does the noise simply get louder/change characteristics in a linear way as the van gets faster and/or slower?

Depending on the mileage on your van, the transmissions have been known to get quite noisy after a while, especially if you are doing sustained high-speed driving. The solution for that particular problem isn't cheap, as it involves replacing or rebuilding the transmission (the shift bands may be fine; the noise is caused by bearing wear, seal failure, and other sundry issues that still require pulling the transmission). A less expensive problem is that you might have a problem with one of your tires--a tire with separating belts may make a noise like this as it slowly tears itself apart. If you hit something hard with the undercarriage of the van, you might have a drive shaft that's slightly bent and hence is causing some sympathetic vibrations in the car because it's out of balance.

Depending on the cause, your humming sound may be one of those things that comes with driving an older car--or it may be a sign of the imminent failure of something serious. It's worth getting things checked out again to try to find the cause of the problem. You'll feel a lot better knowing what it is, even if it's something you choose not to fix.

Took our 2001 Caravan SE to local mechanic because rear wiper quit working. They diagosed proble as faulty PCM. Thought they were doing us a favour by putting in a used one from a 2002 that they thought...

i dont see why they would diag the pcm for the rear wiper, power from fuse to switch to wiper!! no pcm in between this operation. I would have had this fixed in a hour. Have mechanic pay for the bill to get it running. It was running fine when you took it there and only the rear wiper didnt work and now you are out of a vehicle and a tow bill at a hourly dealer cost. Best of luck to you 300.00 later.

A/c squeal

Have the belt tensioner checked, it might have a weak spring keeping the belt from having the right tension on the pulleys.

I have a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport w/ 3.3l flex fuel and the van is idling odd. I have changed the MAP sensor, the IAC sensor, and the spark plugs and wires, and no change.

Could be that your coil pack has gone bad. This is not a cheap piece though, so you will want to be sure.

Does it run fine when up off of idle, or does it also seem to be missing as you drive down the road.

2000 grand caravan won't go above 70 mph. high rpms

First I need to ask is it a 4 speed or a 3 speed transmission. If it's a 4 speed when driving down the road pull it from drive to third gear. You shpuld hear the engine speed up if it does not then that means you have on 4th gear and you will have to take it to a transmission shop. If it's a 3 speed then just count the shift points if all 3 gears are present then drive down the road and see if the van goes into tcc. When you mean the rpms are high how high are they.

I hear a high pitched tone once the engine gets warmed up and it louder outside of the van 2003 Dodge Caravan

Its most probably the water pump which has become dry. Greasing it should solve this high pitched noise. If it still appears, them check all the pulleys to which the belts are attached. Any one of them might require greasing......sodeep

Have you had the water pump replaced yet? Could possibly be the water pump making noise because it's about to go.
