Squealling noise while curving left

I hear a squealling noise from the car as I curve to the left while driving.

hmmm need a look myself here as i think they employ monkeys and not mechanics or they have not replaced anything at all ,most common reason for this noise is the drive coupling nearest the wheel end ,never heard of a diff unit causing this noise unless ?? the drive shaft is too long and its its pushing on the diff unit or the track control arm is too short from a different model which would have the same result ,no i do feel this is a drive coupling and they are taking you for a ride on the cost of all this work

FRONT WHEEL BEARING NOISY


Most likely it is a Hub bearing worn out. If you have access to a highway with a sweeping curve the outside tire turns faster than the inside tire following the curve. So if the noise increases on a left curve, the right side is bad. If the noise increases on a right curve, the left bearing is bad.

You did not state whether you have 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive.
The 4 wheel drives have the Hub bearing. Check around for parts prices. The price can vary by $100 from store to store. If you have the 2 Wheel version it is much cheaper to replace and you will need a wheel bearing seal.

Do spend a little time checking the other components in a 4x4 as the additional components can also make noise.

Could be CV joints or wheel bearings. Need to have them checked it could be dangerous.

well i can help with problem #2

even if you tightened the wheel bearing, it is probably worn out..

what it does when it's loose is you won't hear much noise when you drive on a strait road but the minute you put some weight on it, like when you take a curve, the weight of the body is applied on the bearing resulting in a scraping noise....

and the faster you'll drive the more noise you'll get

so let's say you take a left turn you're gonna hear noise from the right wheel...

I have a 2001 ford focus SE Wagon, while i'm driving down little slopes or when I turn tight on left or right turns there is a rubbing, grinding noise


wheel bearings are worn out

when you take a left turn you should hear it on the right wich means that the right one is done...
if you take a right curve you should hear it on the left..,

now you should be able to distinguish if the sound is coming from the front or the rear just by ear...

but i would say that if you're driving downhill and you hear the sound it means that the front ones are done because most of the weight of the car is transferred to the front bearings...
