Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD
I have a 2005 chevy silverado 1500 pickup with a 5.3 litre engine. i am losing 2 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. i have no visible leaks and the truck is not smoking at all. i've replaced the pcv valve but it's not helping. please advise.
Well, if there are no leaks, then it has to be piston rings or valve seals. If it's only burning a quart every 1500 miles, you would barely see any smoke, and by the standards of 20 or 30 years ago, that was normal.
