it oldmobile expert?? never seen one in my life only on starsky and hutch or was that a ford?? dukes of hazard?? ,right thought about this and here is what i would do to try work out the problem ..for what its worth .firstly follow the pipes from compressor to see if their is a shut off relay/valve in the high pressure line (thinner pipe) out of the two ,if not which i doubt ¿but? then i would start it up and check for heat in the smaller pipe of the two (high pressure) and any coldness in the larger pipe,If and only if you cant find a shgut valve then its a auto shop with a machine to to empty and re gas ,to the correct weight of gas then if that didnt work then remove the unit and strip the reduction valve out and clean it in case its full of you know what .

2001Chevy tohoe Cold air blowing threw back vents but not front vents?

When AC on and cold air from rear but not front is usually a blend door/heater box issue. You may have a non functioning blend door motor that controls hot/cold distribution of airflow

Front AC cold but Rear AC very hot

Not likely, but Is Hot water flowing to heater coil in back? How hot is "very hot" Is it a refrigerant line? If a refrigirant line, Very Hot means it is hot gas from the compressor that "should be going to the condenser coil usually in front of the radiator. It's almost impossible for that Hot refrigerant gas to go to the cooling coil in the back unless you had some repairs done and they weren't certified. My guess is the radiator hot water is not being controlled properly, due to bad valve or control system components.

What causes the ac to blow cold in the rear but warm air in the front?

These vehicles came with 2 types of ac controls.
The vacuum control system uses vacuum to actuate the vents and ducting from hot to cold. A lot of times the HVAC vacuum line in the engine bay (black hard plastic) is either broken or disconnected from its vacuum source.
The electronic vent control: does everything at the control knob via vent actuators and the control panel itself. With this one it could be any of the components. You would have to locate them and verify operation by moving temp/vent selector.

2003 ford expedition i just got it a week ago and the front heat works great but the back vents only blow cold air. How do i fix this?

With the car parked and engine idling, turn the ventilation control between windshield defroster and "open air ducts" to front and rear vents. Listen to pinpoint where the valves are that open and closes the air ducts. It sounds like the air duct to rear vents are blocked, and the cold air in rear air duct is coming from "outside ventilation." The air vent to allow hot air to the rear vent is stuck in "open ventilation" mode, like when you're driving in spring or summer months.
