Question about 2000 Ford Taurus
When the engine is being ran for a while and heats up to running temp. and i turn the key off if the car sits for more the 15 mins give or take the engine wont start up again. after about 2 to 2 and half hours the car will start up. if i have somone jump the car it will start right up. iv replace the cylonoid on the car but problem didnt do away,
I would first take the car to Aurozone and have the charging system hooked up to their computer to run a test to see if its charging properly. Then have then run a load test on the battery to see if its still cranking out the amps it should. If that doesnt work then I would take the starter off and have them run a test on it to see if it is working properly. Its possible that the starter is so worn out that it is requiring more power to engage properly. All these are free tests that they do for the customer so that should help you diagnose the problem.
