I am unsure of the part name, but when your alt went it could have damaged or blew the electric relay/switch/whatsitcalled (mechanic will know) for the transmission. It just happened to my beater van (A Dodge- yeck... ) that was out for a whole month after I did the alternator and yes it was a simple thing small and cheap, if that helps.

I HAVE FAULT CODES P0563 AND P0700.DRIVING HOME AND HEADLIGHTS BECAME BRIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE CAME ON.TRANSMISSION SLUGISH FROM STOP TO START

P0563 reffers to the vehicles system voltage being high. Thus the headlights getting brighter. Usually caused by a defective voltage regulator built into the alternator. Replacing the alternator is the most common repair. P0700 is a transmission fault code set when something in the transmission control system is at fault. In your case, most likely the control module for the transmission also detected high voltage and put the transmission in limp mode causing the shifting issues you are experiencing. Have the charging system tested and repaired as necessary and the codes rest and the vehicle should go back to normal

Need an emissions schamatic for my 1984 K10 silverado 305 engine

Unfortunately, there are 13 variations for this engine and year. Was this truck sold or modified for high altitude? Was it sold in California or modified to meet the CA emission standards? Does it have a manual or auto transmission? After narrowing down based on answers to these questions, there are still alternative configurations depending on the particular equipment, so look carefully at the diagrams to see which components are used on your engine. Sometimes you can match the 3 letter code for the diagram to letters in the VIN or a sticker in the engine compartment. Please let me know if you have questions.

Every now and then if I have to take off fast, my explorer will not go into gear, like the transmission is going out. Just when I'm taking off fast. any solutions?

I had the same problem with my '99 Exploder. The problem I was having was related to gear wear. Change your transmission fluid and submerge a magnet in the old fluid. If there's a lot of metal flakes in it, then either start looking for a replacement transmission or a new vehicle. My fuel pump was also acting up, and that got replaced at the same time of my transmission.
Alternatively, transmission issues are generally best suited for ASE-certified repair professionals. I'd recommend taking it to a dealer repair shop. Due to the infrequency of the issue, they may need to keep it for testing a few days.

The transmission seems to be slipping. How can you tell? Would changing the transmission fluid and filter help or hurt a car with 246K miles? If slipping what alternatives for repairing besides...

changing the fluid and filter would not hurt at all in fact adding a bottle of lucas som times gets people another 10,000 ive seen it happen give it a shot you have nothing to loose but the 30 dollars on parts and labor assuming you would be doing the work

1996 audi a4 transmission hard shifting

Get the transmission scanned at the dealership. If it has incorrect gear ratio code stored, it needs a transmission. Only the torque convertor or valve body can be replaced for any repairs at the dealership, so it needs to be diagnosed correctly. Any authorized ZF transmission repair shop can also repair them, more than the Audi dealerships can, so thats another alternative.

Transmission and alternator Complications

Just a suggestion/tip. Have you checked to see if the wires going to/from the alternator and transmission run in the same harness. And if they do, maybe they are contacting each other (bare) maybe even the ground wire in the harness became partially disconnected. Hope this can help to solve the problem, or at least elliminate one more reason that might cause the problem. Best wishes.

Problem with Transmission Not shifting into forward gears

When was the transmission rebuilt and was it done by a shop with a warranty? I have yet to see an alternator cause damage to a transmission but there has been stranger things. If the alternator was hooked up wrong or a wire was left off, the system could be loosing power to one of the ECMS. Or one of the ecms could of been damage if the wrong battery terminal was hooked up. That I have seen. For the moment, it sounds like the car is in limp home, which is a safety feature by the manufactures that does not allow the car to be driven. Are there any lights on, check engine light, transmission light ect when the car is running?
