To remove the key barrel.
You have to drill a hole in the metal housing, at about the 4 o'clock position 10 to 12 mm from the edge of the housing.
With the key then inserted in the barrel push a pin into the hole and the barrel will come out.
Caution the housing is very thin and it does not take much to drill through it.

How to fix ignition switch

I can help you. however more info is needed, please tell me the vehice make, model, and year. Also the ignition switch your refering to is the electrical portion of a ignition lock assembly, if the vehicle has a standard lock that uses a key, (not push button start). if the lock is damaged or no keys...then the part you need is a ignition lock and key, not ignition switch, :) *some imports have this assembly, lock and switch as a unit*, and are not servicable, in this case the entire ignition assembly will be required.

I have a 1994 pontiac bonneville se, there is a metal like housing unit that is a part of the steering column that causes the turn signal to click when you pull the lever. The lever plugs in the the wiper...

This sounds like that actual turn signal switch assembly. To replace it you must remove the steering wheel and disassemble the column a little. This takes some special tools and skill.

How do you replace the ignition swith?

the ignition switch is actually on the steering column below the steering wheel. after removing any plastic that might be in the way you will see a metal rod that moves up and down when the key is turned, where the metal rod ends going down is the ignition switch.

What is the procedure to replace the ignition switch on a 2000 dodge caravan?

The top and bottom plastic steering column covers need to be removed with a Torx screwdriver. The tilt lever, if it exists, must be unscrewed to remove them. Then, remove the tamper-proof Torx screws to remove the entire plastic ignition switch assembly, including key cylinder. The metal cylinder part can now be removed from the ignition switch. If you need to remove the internal keyed part from the cylinder, the key must be in a specific position, and a hammer must be used at a specific spot. Most locksmiths have access to this specific procedure, and/or will do it for $10 or so. Otherwise you can simply replace the cylinder, but that means the key will be different than the doors.

How to put on ignition switch on a '88 mazda b2200

If you mean actually replacing the ignition switch on the vehicle with a locking column. You need to do this. Dicconnect the battery, remove the lower panel of the dash if there is any. There is a bolt on the steering column near the fire wall on most vehicles, remove this bolt, it will release the spline on the steering column. Disconnect all wiring going to the column, unbolt the column from the dash support. Remove the column from the truck, on the ignition switch you will see where the two shear bolts screw the assembly together, center punch the center of each bolt. Now drill the bolt with a 1/8" drill about 1/4" to 3/8" deep. Now use a 3/8" drill and drill out the shear head until it comes off the bolt. You can now remove the switch assembly from the column. The new assembly should come with new shear off bolts so when you bolt it in place when tightned they will break off rendering it tamperproof again. Most vehicles are designed like this now to stop theft. Check the column for operation before reinstalling it in the reverse of above. You just want to make sure the key locks and unlocks the column before reinstalling in the vehicle. You may want to do this before you totally tighten the bolts and break them off permanently. Good luck, RAC

How do i replace the key cylinder ignition on the 1991 sunbird le

This (plate) is held in place with a snap ring. You will need a special press to remove it and also a steering wheel puller to access the ignition lock cylinder. The actual switch is located on top of the steering column above the brake pedal. It is actuated with a rod from the ignition lock cylinder.
