Question about Chevrolet Blazer
1998 Chev Blazer - hesitates, sometimes backfires, after start up and initial take-off. after you get through the initial take-off/ hesitation, it runs great and idles smooth. I've been completely through the whole electric and mechanical for the past 16 months. It throws a O2 sensor, but i don't believe it. I went to the junk yard and replace both O2 sensors. The Catalytic converter is still partially disconnected - thought it might be plugged. Just a guess, but it acts like it doesn't clear the gasses when shutdown. Therefore, the air is bad when start up. The air gets cleared when it run for a few minutes and everything is okay.
I fixed a van with the same problem. I had to reprogram the computer. It shuold be the same idea with your truck.
