It has a fan motor relay that is usally located next to the blower motor itself its the cheapest fix and if not that the blower motor itself which is located under the dash on the passenger side.

96 neon overheating

Do some simple checks. First check the coolant level while the car is cool and off. With the car still off remove the radiator cap. Then start the car up. The antifreeze should not bubble or over flow with in 3 minutes of idling. If that's ok put the cap back on securely, Then see if the electrical fans turn on when it gets just above operating temp. Usually if you turn on the ac that will let you know if they are working. If all of these check are good. Then replace the thermostat. If the fluid bubbles out with the cap removed when it's cold and running. It's usually a bad cylinder head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. If the fans do not ingage check the fan relay and electrical wiring.

One of my fans dosen't work, is it a big problem

Ive had alot of people come to me and tell me this. Let me explain this both fans will not operate all the time. One fan will operate as soon as you turn on the AC this is normal the second fan will only come on as the engine temperature reaches a certain degree when it does come on it will only stay on till the engine cools down then it will turn off again. if your car is not overheating i wouldnt put too much thought into it.

My neon heats up...but is not because of the thermostat...they told me that is the engine coolant tank that is has a hole...or the radiator..can you tell me what is starts and everything but...

After it heats up, see if the fans are spinning. Turning on the AC can force the fans to spin if the car is already warm. The wire plugs into a fixture on the passenger side fan then a wire from there goes to the driver side fan. On my Neon the fixture shorted out and I bypassed it. so far, so good. -- You may be able to drive if you keep the heater on full - hot.

Air conditioning cuts on and off

Could be the relay. The relays are in a black rectangular box on the right, when facing the open engine compartment. Lift the lid on the box and you will see several relays. The lid shows which is which. Swap the AC and the horn relays. If that was the problem, your AC will work, but the horn may not. Buy a new relay at Kragen for about $10.

Ac problems

check the high side pressure. if it is above 200 you either have some sort of restriction or the fans are not working. of course this is just one possibility.

Dodge neon shuts off after i accelearate

a loose belt will not cause the engine to shut off. a loose belt will squeel. it almost sounds like the AC compressor might of locked up and it causing your neon to shut off. if your neon doesnt have ac or the ac is working properly then its something else.
