On these vehicles the front and rear a/c operates almost independantly of each other. There are two lines that run from the front to the back (one is the pressure line and one is the return line). These are made from aluminum. If you check those lines at each mounting point you may find that there is a small pinhole leak. You will need dye and a blacklight to find this leak. www.fmsiinc.com has a repair for this and I think they have several places that purchase the repair that will do it for you. DO NOT replace the entire line because it is VERY expensive. Just replace the worn section(s).

My 2000 Chevy Tahoe front ac dosnt work but rearworks blows hot air

Sounds as if you have more than one problem. If the rear is blowing hot then the AC is not working. The front should also blow hot if the front fan motor is functioning.Youi need to have the system pressures tested for proper freon levels and have the front blower motor system tested if it is not working

My gmc yukon 2000 slt rear ac blows hot air when i have ac . on and the front works fine .

I have a 2000 GMC Savana Van SLT with front and rear AC/Heat. My front would blow hot while the rear blew cold with AC on. It turned out to be low on Freon. It's hard to know if you have the right amount of freon installed because pressures vary depending on the ambient temperatures. So the best way is to remove all the freon then reinstall the recommended amount as listed on the evaporator housing near the firewall. This worked fine for me... works like new after installing the correct amount of freon.

Rear Floor Vent heat only

Sounds like your heater coolant hose door flap is broken or loose. May want to check behind the heater controls, if your components are mechanically operated. If electronically, may need to perform more troubleshooting before replacing this component.

My rear heating fan cannot supply hot air through roof duct but AC works

Heat is only supplied through floor ducts, as hot air tends to rise up to ceiling to create circulation of hot air inside the car, same way cold air (AC) is only supplied through roof ducts as cold air tends to settle down.

AIR CONDITIONER

On most vehicles with front and rear A/C, the two systems are basically independant of each other just sharing the compressor and condensor. It is possible that the Mode Door (controls where the air flow is sent; ie: windshield, vents, floor) is out of adjustment or sticking.
