If it was water that came from the valve, and If you can identify the stem valve as a valve on the fuel injection rail or line, then yes , you have water in your gas, and no, it is not normal for water to come out of this valve. If the valve is , in fact, connected to the fuel injection system, it is likely the test valve where a pressure gage is hook up to test the pressure of the fuel going into the fuel injection.
Depending on just how much water is in the system, try several treatments of dry gas, or you just may have to have the fuel tank drained.
Good Luck!

COULD BE A HOT SPOT WHEN YOU SHUT IT OFF THE OIL BURNS OFF AND THE COLD START IS THE DRY LIFTER AND ROCKER CONTACT OR THAT SPRING IS WEAK UNTIL IT HEATS UP AND EXPANDS TO CLOSE THE GAP BETWEEN THE ROCKER AND THE VALVE STEM

I bought a 1984 chevy 350 engine from a salvage yard that ran but never ran right. Come to find out it had a bad exhaust valve. we took the head off blew it out and replaced the valve and put the head back...

If you have a weak spark it will not start since under compression it takes a much stronger spark to jump the gap as compared to a spark in normal air pressure. Try a good known working coil.

Took distributer out and changed dist rotor and dist cap. Put ne spark plugs and wires. Now wont start and backfires while trying to start.

You have the Engine Out Of Time you will have to bring number 1 cylinder to Top dead center do this by turning the Crank bolt Clockwise Have the valve cover off so you can watch the Intake and Exhaust Valve`s open and close as number one piston comes up on a firing stroke make sure you have the number one cylinder coming up on a firing stroke. Watch Intake valve open and close as you turn the Crank.when pisten gets dead top of this STROKE DROP THE DISTRIBUTER; Start the Firing Order right where the Rotery Button is inside the Distributer cap

My 2001 mitsubishi galant will not turn over. starter is good, battery is good, and we just put in a new fuel pump which is also good. why wont the fuel go into the engine?

I am assuming when you are saying that the vehicle will not turn over, that you mean that it will not start. There is a valve on the fuel rail, which is how the fuel is delivered to the injectors, that looks similar to the valve stem on your tire, this is called a schrader valve. You need to loosen the stem in the valve, and the turn the ignition on and off several times to pressurize the fuel rail. When you start to get fuel out of the schrader valve, you will tighten the stem in the valve. Then your car should start. If you meant that your car will not turn over, as in the starter not engaging, then you need to check your starter relay.

Water pump / timing belt went out on a 97. When turning the cam gear by hand, shouldn't all the valves and rockers stay in contact with the cam. If they dont, does that not show that the valves are bent?

Yes they should. The best way to check without getting really technical is to check valve spring height when the cam heel is above the valve (not the lobe) All springs should be the same height. If a valve is bent it will not let the spring come all the way up because the valve stem will not pass through the guide.
A better way of checking is to connect a compressed air supply to each cylinder, one at a time and turn the cam so that the intake and exhaust lobes are not on the valves for that cylinder. If air comes through either the intake manifold or exhaust, that valve is bent.
If you have any bent valves and you remove the cylinder head, be sure to round over any "eyebrows" on the piston tops using crocus cloth. If you don't and the mark is pronounced, it can become a hot spot that can cause pre-ignition.

1990 Corvette,s fan comes on when the key is turned but car wont start. THANK YOU !

Do the lights come on (dash)? Is the battery up? Is it in park? Try moving the gear selector through the neutral range while holding the key in the start position. If it cranks, the neutral safety switch is out of adjustment or going bad. If the dash lights go out when you hit start, the battery termanals need cleaned (baking soda & hot water & a brush). If the dash lights never come on, do you even have a battery and is it hooked up (including the ground strap between engine and frame)? Ray (garage owner)

Car cranks but wont start

first find your fuel rail and there should be a pressure release valve on it it will look like a car tires valve stem press on it if fuel comes out then its fine but next i would check the plugs if they aint firing it could be coil pack or timing belt
