Try getting a qoute from an auto-electrical shop. The problem "may" be just the reverse sensor switch. These guys are usually a fair bit cheaper than so-called expert shops and you get to speak with the person that is actually doing the job.Not a desk jockey payed to talk bull-cookies.Hope this helps

I can't find the fuse for the Reversing Lights (Backup Lights)

http://www.ehow.com/how_6016968_fix-2006-dodge-grand-caravan.html
Hi try this link the 2003-2006 are almost the same and the above link should help you to find the fuse. After you replace the fuse if it still does not work call your local dealer to find out if it could be a reverse sensor or reverse switch. Good Luck and don't forget to let everyone on fix ya know if this worked.

When i turn my headlights on my dashboard lights do not come on

Hello

If you have a push/pull type headlight switch just turn the knob clockwise (with the lights on) to brighten the dashboard lighting. It is designed this so that you can control the brightness of the dash in darkness.
Someone might have done some work on the wiring and got things reversed, the only option for you is take it back to the dealer and show them whats wrong and it should be under factory warranty take it to a dealer they may fix it for free.

I have a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. The check engine stays on constantly. Hadn't had the money to have it checked or fixed. Husband said origanally it might be a sensor. Now it is not shifting gears. Stays...

you need to get someone with a obd code reader to check the fault code thats causing the light to come on then you have a clue to the problem is it may be something easy fix

Windstar Minivan - starts, will not reverse, only forward

Needs a Trans most likely, known to fail around 100k miles. Maintenance very important and correct fluid on these. At the Dealer the price used to be around $2,000.00 , aftermarket shops around half that, FIND a REPUTABLE shop.

Reversing light not working

The reverse light switch needs replacement. You can purchase one from a mazda dealer for a cheap price. Unless you are hands on I recommend having replaced by a service centre.

BACKUP LIGHTS

Probably the reverse sensor located on your tranny it should be a 2 pronged connector screwed into a hole in the tranny. Goto your dealer to get it. Should be cheap/easy fix.

Reverse gear has grinding noise...?

Have them flush the fluid out under warranty and put in new fluid, and have them bleed the clutch lines in case air is getting in there. Audi and VW claim lifetime transmission fluid but it's BS - I've changed relatively low mile fluid from these cars and it was horrendous. It's possible that the fluid itself is causing trouble, but it's more likely that it is a synchro problem. If it was a clutch issue, you should have problems with more than just reverse gear - a clutch simply engages and disengages the engine and transmission, regardless of which gear it is. The problem (if not fixed by fluid) is in the transmission, and being under warranty, don't accept another "suggestion" like they're giving you. Changing your clutch isn't gonna do it.

Do the backup lights work off the transmission or a switch on the column

I can relate ... been without reverse lights for a while.
Here's my understanding of the communications that take place in this process: when you put the vehicle in reverse, there is a backup light switch on the transmission that sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM), that then forwards that information to the BCM, and the BCM sends the signal to the backup lights.

Have had different diagnoses for the problem ranging from BCM (body control module), to FCM (front control module), to the standard bulb, wiring, etc. Dealer wanted to do a $1000+ job thinking it could be the BCM. Being cheap decided to do some troubleshooting on my own ... with help from another site where I contacted a Dodge Expert.

In my case, we tested wiring, and found there was a fault in the wire ... replaced with a new wire.
So sending 12V to from the battery to the lights made the reverse lights come on -- so wiring and bulbs good.

Didn't fully fix the issue ... tested the pin from the BCM that carrys the signal to the backup lights to come on and found that the BCM is NOT sending out the signal. Looks like it is a BCM issue but want to check to make sure the BCM is getting the right input signal. So that is now where my testing will go.

Hope that helps.
