It has a 351 Windsor motor in it. I has a terrible knocking sound. We replaced the main bearing and timing chain. What could it be?

How were the rod bearings? I always check them whenever replacing the main bearings. Why did you only say "main bearing"? There are always more than one.

could also be part of the fuel pump dropping do into the oil pan is now hitting the crank, but you checked the oil pan for "bits and pieces" when you took it off to change the main bearing - right?

I have a 98 ford 4.2l that is knocking. It is consistent and gets faster/slower depending on rpm not load. Have replaced rod bearings main bearings and lifters. What am I overlooking?

Considering that when you change a timing belt you ALWAYS change the water pump all seals/gaskets, timing belt idler gears, etc. many times that comes all together in a kit.
It can be an average cost of around $1100-1200, sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. The main cost will be labor, since it is a fairly time consuming job.

How do you change the main bearings in a 1999 ford taurus? And can you change them without pulling the motor?

if you need bearings, you need a lot more. Yes you could, but its a waste of time, because if the bearings are bad, the crank, rod bearings, oil pump, ect. may also be bad.

Stupid question but I'm just not sure. What does it mean when the oil light is on and it makes a long beep like noise from time to time? Should I only get an oil change?

It's an indication of low oil pressure. Could be low on oil. Could be the oil pump. Could be excessive engine wear in the main engine bearings. As the engine runs the main bearings (in the oil pan and between the piston rod bearings) create pressure. If a couple of quarts of oil don't turn it off (if it's low), it could be the pressure switch being bad and sending a false signal. Lastly, the main bearings and oil pump. That's cheapest to most expensive.
Hope I helped. If so please rate my answer, and leave a comment. Thanks.

How do you change a rear main oil seal in a 2000 toyota celica gt

First of all, be certain that the leak is in fact from that seal. many leaks travel to that area.

To change the seal is fairly involved, you need to pull the trans and flywheel. There are some specialzed tools involved. Do you have manual or automatic? Manual requires clutch plate alignment on re assembly, by the way , if manual, be sure to change the release bearing and pilot bearing at minimum. Commonly it would make sense to change the clutch during this process....you're already all the way in there..

Oil pressure drops when idling and knock from main bearing.

How many miles on it? Could be the oil pump if the oil level is full.

98 Grand C jeep 4litre crankshaft end play

Usually this can be done but I think that if you have wear on thrust faces, there is likely wear on support faces as well, Once you have the pan off, plastigage both rod and main bearings. if out of specs, you really should change all of them!! Make sure you torque everything properly and avoid getting oil on backs of bearings when installing... can lead to spun bearing.
good luck
