Ther might be some loose connection or joints on your exhaust. Check the rubber bushings where you have the exhaust connected to. If you can have the car raised up to have a better look, the better.

How do you repair jaguar s type with a s701 code

I'm not familiar with a code that is s701, typical engine cades start with P. However, jag had a mfr recall numbered S701 on 98-99 xj models. What year and engine is your jag? Also try these links http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/s-type-check-engine-codes-61719/. http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/jaguar/. JAGUAR S701 1672 V 3/1/2002 1998 XJ series, WJCXV04.0AS3 A number of owners of 1998 through 1999 model year Jaguar XJR vehicles, 1983 50S 4444 1999 XK series XJCXV04.0AS3 equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system, have been alerted to the 2461 50S presence of a possible problem by the sound of an exhaust leak and/or illumination of the MIL. It was established that the noise was being caused by exhaust gas escaping from the pipe that transfers exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve. The escape was caused by a crack in the transfer pipe. Remedy: The design of the convolutions that provide for flexibility of the transfer pipe has been modified to improve the pipe's resistance to damage during installation and due to vibration. A heat sock has been added to provide a vibration damping medium for the pipe. Technical Service Bulletin S701 describes corrective action. Hope this helps

I own a 2005 rx8. Have a loud rattling noise on front passenger side while AC is running and car is idling. Had engine mounts replaced back in 2007. Could it be the same thing? If not, any ideas?

first of all.. lucky ******* i want your car. anyways. when you turn on the ac the car drops idle a little bit and vibrates more. i'm guessing your exhaust pipe is rattling against its worn mounting or something is too close to it and it is vibrating against it. check the right side exhaust pipe and i'm sure you'll see something thats too close or the support mounting worn

There are custom exhausts that can fix that, but they are expensive, will cause a loss of power and the fix will not be total - you will still feel some minor vibrations.

There does not have to be a visible hole for these symptoms to occur. You probably do need a new muffler. The rough idle sould subside when the new muffler is installed.

My 07 silverado had a vibration noise at around 30 mph.i took it to the dealership, they said they found a bulletin.they cut out a piece of the exhaust pipe and replaced it with flex pipe.the noise went...

Yes they did, it's a harmonic vibration through the exhaust pipes that you were feeling and hearing, all trucks do it, just some people complain about it. If the noise has came back they are going to try and hang weights off of the exhaust to fix the problem, and that will work. I've never ran into one with that low of a rpm/speed complaint but it could happen. Or something has come loose?

I have an annoying vibration-rattle in the back on

While I am not trully certain, it may be an exhaust heat shield. These, from time to time, may loose a weld and vibrate. Often a "tinny" type of noise. If the noise is more of a heavy thump or such this may be something mechanically loose.
I do hope this may have assisted you,
Tom

Accelarating from 25 to 40 MPH - a "rattle" in exhaust system

Had my y-pipe replaced (bad cats) and the bolts at the y-pipe flange where it attaches to the exhaust manifolds started to get loose and I go tthe viberating (tinning) noise. Took it in the first time and they tightened everything up but it seems it's doing it again so I'm going to try to fix on my own. Just wondering how much of a pain it's going to be to get to the bolts and what size...

Vibration

sounds like you have a loose or dry rotted exhaust hanger, i know it sounds crazy, but it could be the exhaust rattling you hear.

go to the tail pipe of the truck, and with your foot push on the tail pipe, if you have more than 1 inch of movment this is your problem.
