It depends on what has been done to it. If it just needs a refill you can buy one at a parts store for around $30 and fill it yourself.

Probably have bad hood struts/shocks that hold it up. These can be obtained at the usual discount parts stores(Kragen,Autozone, Checker,etc) Usually just pop off on one end of a ball mount and unbolt the other after you have propped up hood. These shocks go bad from time or fluid leaks.
