Question about 2000 Ford Focus

1 Answer

Remote key & AutoDoor opens/closes driver side, not other doors.

Everything a few weeks ago worked.

Now when I try to unlock the doors I only open the driver's side. Likewise when I use the automatic door unlock from inside (driver's or passengers side) it only opens/locks the drivers side, not the passenger or rear doors. (4 door hatch, Hatch still works though..)

I think it's a fuse? but I'm a computer guy, not a mechanic. And I can't find the fuse.

Help?

Hi, I have 328XI Station Wagon (2007) and all of sudden I can't unlock its doors with remote nor with the unlock button (none of them). I had to use the key (that's hidden in the remote) to open the driver...

Do you keep the key in your pocket quite a bit? Most BMW's need the key to be recharged in the ignition console for a few hours every week or so. The battery will die if you don't charge it for about an hour or two once a week.

About 6 months ago someone tried to break into my driver side door. Ever since, you couldn't unlock the door from the outside with a key. The door would open and close just fine though. About a week ago,...

That sounds like what happened to my neighbor. They came to the conclusion that someone tried to jam a screwdriver in the lock to open the door.As far as not openeing anymore, that happened to me and I had to replace the mechanism inside the door.I bought a used one for $5 and did it myself.A regular mechanic should be able to fix it however, you may end up needing to have 2 separate keys for your car if they replace the lock.1 for the ignition and other locks, and 1 for the drivers side lock.Call around a few places for a few estimates.Tell them the same as what you posted, they should be able to give a close estimate over the phone. Also, please read my tip about car keys.It is good free info.Good luck! Remote works but doors don't lock/unlock

Check the remote battery or replace. Check all fuses. If you need to reprogram, try this.

key not in ignition.
driver door open-others closed
driver door unlocked

1-insert and remove key from ignition two times

2-close and open driver door two times

3-insert and remove key once from ign.

4-close and open drvr door twice

5-insert key into ign.,then close driver door

6-turn key to on (not start) then off, twice
this is rewrite mode, have all remotes to reprogram
it will clear any lost remotes.

7-remove key from ignition, the door locks should cycle twice.if not start over.it may take a few tries.

8-press lock/unlock together and hold for a second

9-release,and press lock on remote, the door locks will cycle confirming program.continue to do other remotes you have, steps 8 and 9.if only one in possesion, you are done.

to end mode open door or insert key into ig.you can do up to 4 remotes.read this a couple of times to get the sequence down.there are time restraints, but if you go in order it will work.do not wait more than a second b/t each step and you will be ok.i know from experience that you can do this as fast as you can and it will enter mode.if steps out of order or you wait to long it wont.print this and have in lap, read ahead of what you are doing.good luck

Programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.
