Hi

The code for your radio is tied into the Honda network by both the serial of the radio and the VIN (chassis no.) of your vehicle. This information is tied together as a deterrent against thieves as the radio cannot be easily activated without this information being combined.

You can get the code for your radio from any Honda dealer. Bring the serial of the radio and your vehicle VIN no. to them and they will run the numbers for you and get the code. They will do this for a small charge and some dealers do it for free. You may have to produce personal identification. There is no other way of 'cracking' the code with these units.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

The code that the radio is asking, it's the anti-theft code. Check the glove box in your car and there should be a card where you can find the anti-theft code.

If you couldn't find it, contact the reseller or the manufacturer and give them the serial number of the radio.

After disconnecting battery my car radio asks for code. Ford Ranger made in Thailand. Radio model 18D827

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

Radio removal instructions can be found here..... or search YouTube for a video

I have a mitsubishi diamante, and i got a new battery and now I need the radio code that I dont have. I don know how to remove my radio to get the serial number. Can I have information about the best way...

In the USA anyone can get their radio code for free direct from Mitsubishi by telephone. You will need the following information:
Last 8 characters of your VIN # Radio Serial Number
Call Mitsubishi:
1-888-648-7820, option 1, option 4 Current hours: 6am to 5pm Pacific, M-F.
Tell representative that you replaced your battery and now need your radio code. If you are not currently a registered owner, they will ask for your info for registration. ==============================================================
If not in the USA then sorry....Main MITSUBISHI Dealer or Radio Decoding Service only for this code
It will not be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet

Battery died and radio asks for a code...... i dont have code for i am the 3rd owner of this car. is there a generic code that works?

No unfortunately there is no generic code that will work. The code is linked to the individual serial of the radio.

Thankfully there is a means of retrieving the code and it is not too expensive from this link. You will need to provide the serial number and radio part or model number of the radio in the case of Chrysler.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Radio code : put new battery in and radio says put code in and i have but does not turn on

Pull the radio and get the model # and serial number from the radio. Got to the dealer and ask them to verify that it is the correct radio for you vin. You only get three attempts to insert code. Disconnect battery, wait 20 minutes, then apply code. Push buttons fully and pause. Hope this helps

Radio needs a code but i dont know it

It sounds like you stereo did not retain it's memory during the battery change. Unless you have the code, or the serial number written down somewhere, you will have to remove the stereo and get the serial number off the unit to request a new one.

Hey guy i have a 2000 rl with the navigation system and one day my fuse on the radio blow so i replace it and then now my radio is asking for the code how can i found the serial number to the radio

The serial number may be on the back of the ash tray. Take that serial number and call Acura dealership - they will give you a code. I got a new battery and the same thing happened - needed a code. The serial number is on the back of the radio but the original owner was nice enough to put the sticker on the back of the ashtray. Some times, people put it on the inside lid of the fuse box.
