Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

1995 Jeep Cherokee AC blower doesn't work. Replaced blower resister, blower, and Aux fan fuse and still it doesn't work. I'm running out of things to check. Original problem was that blower was screeching and then quit working. At the time it was only working on high speed. It quit working and also the AC compressor doesn't engage when switched to that position. I replace the usual suspects like the resistor and blower motor, but still no joy on getting it work. Will not work when switched to vent or defrost either. I disconnected the fan speed switch and tried jumping the contacts to see if that was the problem, but still no joy. Is there something else that could have blown when the blower motor went?

My 05 grand cherokee's ac only works on high setting. The fan does doesn't work on any other setting whether the ac is on or not. What could be the cause of this problem.

There is a blower resister module in the blower case, near the blower motor that is bad, what causes this is a bad blower motor,it may run good and sound good, but it is drawing to many amps, and is burning the resister out, this is your speeds. If this was at all helpful, please rate, and thank you.

Never just replace any item because someone suggested it may have failed. Before replacing anything, you need to check each item for any signs it's bad. In addition to what I mentioned, the blower motor itself can also cause a problem if it is worn out and is drawing too much amperage to operate. If the blower makes any noise or the wiring becomes warmer than it should be after replacing any damaged parts, look at the motor. Bad motor ground can cause problems as well so check that too.
