Question about 2002 Jeep Liberty

I have a 2002 Liberty Sport, the right side back passenger window will not go up. I can hear the motor work in both directions but the glass stays inside the door. How do I get the door cover off so I can manually lift the glass up?

The window has likely come off the track. DO NOT roll the window up or down as it may scratch the glass inside the door. Their in a few screws and some body panel plugs to pull out. They make a special tool for this. I just give her a good yank, If they break don't worry they sell new ones at the dealer and most parts stores.

Where is the power window relay located in a 2002 mercury villager?


Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The drivers side window will not roll back up. When I push the button to roll the window down, i can hear clicking, but when i push to roll the window up it doesnt do anything and the passenger window...


If you are hearing clicking but there isn't any movement, it is most likely a worn track that will have to be replaced. Good luck and stay cool

I have a 2002 Honda Accord EX 4-dr sedan. The front driver's side power window motor works (you can hear it), and the window will go down, but not back up. You can hear the motor when pushing the button...


Hi, the reason you hear the motor running but the window wont go back up is because the window regulator is bad. you will need to go to a parts store and get a replacement. you can get a replacement at Advance Auto Parts for $72.99. the part number is 741-766.

I can closed the back passenger window


IF you can, separate the rubber/felt window seals and see if you can see the top of the window glass. IF you can - use a pair of needle nose pliers and attempt to carefully pull up - making sure you do not crack (shatter) the glass. Once enough glass is exposed - use your fingers to pull-up. While you are pulling--up attempt to raise (up) the window with the window switch. There may be a dead spot on the motor, by pulling-up you advance the motor beyond the dead spot, and the motor MAY re-engage.
IF you can't get the glass up with needle nose pliers, try pushing down on the glass (being careful again) while engaging the window switch to raise (up). Again the idea is to get the motor from the dead spot.
Another way: While engaging the window switch to raise the window - bang (hard) on the door - in various spots to attempt to "vibrate" the motor to engage.
Last but not least: Remove the Inner Door Panel and raise the window by hand, again using the window switch to (maybe) assist you.
I have also (but painfully): separated the window seals and got a piece of duct tape down onto the glass, using a long screw driver to adhere enough of the tape to the glass enough to pull up on the glass. It worked but it needs careful hand control on your part. GO Duct Tape!

The window regulator assembly is more than likely the issue. The motor drive the regulator to move the window. This is a common issue.

You might consider thoroughly cleaning the area on both the glass and the piece you are trying to adhere to it, then getting "Rearview Mirror Adhesive", available in your local auto parts store for >$10.

Follow the directions on the product precisely, and the handle should stay on there for you.

Replaced passenger side door glass. When you use


What you need to do to initialize the window is remove the window motor from the regulator. Plug it into the car by itself, then press up on the switch until it turns four times. Then hold the switch down for four turns, then put motor back into the regulator, and assemble back into the door. to make sure the motor spins correctly four times I make a tooth on the gear with a marker.

This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Rear passenger side window stuck in down position


1) Yes you are right to think that it is the regulator.
2) You can repair this.

Remove the screws that hold the door panel on.
Remove the door panel. There are alot of clips on the door panel that just need to be pulled out with panel while removing.
Remove debris shield.(plastic piece between door panel and door.
The regulator will be visible at this point.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the regulator. Separate Glass from regulator. Some use clips some use bolts to hold the glass to the regulator.
Remove regulator attaching bolts.

Thats it just reverse the procedure for installation.

It is the switch wear you roll up and down the windows. Get the switch replace and that should solve the problem.
