Could be a faulty sensor, but check engine light would come on,
I would guess the coil packs, module or most likely you may have faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor.

I have 95 Dodge Dukota runs good but misses and smelles like gas when driving and gas fumes bad when truck is turned off

Possible fuel leak caused by Ethanol added to the fuel rotting the seals or just a damaged fuel line. Get it fixed before it catches fire.

I have a 79 New Yorker with a 318 it has a hard time starting we just replaced air filter, fuel filter and lines plugs, Roter and cap it floods real easy

The old chryslers are very touchy. It sounds like the float is stuck on the carburetor flooding the engine or it is stuck closed not allowing enough gas to get into the cylinders. Pull a spark plug and see or smell if there is gas on it.If so is there spark? You have solid state ignition I believe. Pull a spark plug wire off of a plug and hold with insulated pliers and see if you are getting spark to the plugs. The engine needs air, fuel and spark to run. Check firing order for the wires 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 is the firing order. That should get you started. Let me know if you need more troubleshooting.

I have a 2004 oldsmobile alero its getting fire and gas but want crank has a good batterie

If you have spark and good fuel pressure. The only way it wouldn't start is that the timing is off.

Have it towed to a qualified repair shop , some people just are not qualified to repair automobiles . You don't have training or knowledge too

Motor hesitates, doesn't get good fuel flow

If you can smell gas that means air can get in the fuel system. Look for a cracked rubber line at or near the fuel tank.

My VW Passat is not starting. The engine turns but no fire to start. Can someone help?

You are either not getting gas, or spark. My guess is that your fuel pump is gone. If your Passat is before 2001.5, then I believe it has an Ignition Module. You can get them at for about $120. But if it is dead, you should be getting a computer code and your engine light should be on. So check this before buying one. If you can smell the exhaust while someone is turning the engine over with the starter, if you smell gas, then the fuel pump is likely working. If not, then it likely failed.

I smell fuel in the cars interer and when I have the heater on it gets real smelly

Check for a fuel leak in or under the engine compartment. Do not delay this repair, it could result in a fire.

Turns over well but is slow to fire off sometime. Can smell gas fumes inside the car as well as the outside. No black smoke from ehaust and no fuel leaks.

if you smell gas YOU DO have a fuel leak.... make sure your gas cap is good and or tight, also might want to look at your fuel pressure regulator.. the fuel system is pretty simple... let me know!
