Question about Plymouth Voyager

Open Question

Rear hatch on 1996 Plymouth Voyager will not open, sounds like it unlocks with the door locks but will not budge. I have no key as we bought it used.Handle feels as if it were not attached to anything but no rattle sounds from inside. I have seen a post about a plug to remove but can not locate.

How do you open the back door (no manual)

Rear hatch is locked or unlocked with a key. (if equipped) • To open the rear hatch, insert the key into the lock, turn it to the unlock position and pull up the rear hatch by pressing the handle (DOOR). You can also lock/unlock the latch (but not release it) with the central door lock system. • If unlocked, the rear hatch can be opened by pressing the handle (DOOR) and pulling the hatch up. • To close the rear hatch, lower and push down the rear hatch firmly. Make sure that the rear hatch is securely latched.

MY REAR HATCH WONT OPEN CAN I OPEN IT FROM INSIDE

If the key turns and the door won't unlock, work the power lock switch between lock and unlock, several times, that might free it up. If the key does not turn, shoot some WD-40 into the key hole and then try working the key in and out several times, before trying to turn the key. Hope this helps.

Have a 2006 chevy hhr LT back hatch door wont lock or unlock. All other doors do with both key and inside lock.Hatch wont budge?

There is a manual release on the inside of the hatch door.
Somewhere in the center of the door under an oval cover plate you can open it with a screwdriver.

I can't lock the rear hatch door on my yukon. There is no key lock and the remote button locks all the other doors but the rear hatch remains unlocked. Also the button on the inside of the vehicle does not...

The lock is stuck in the "locked" position.
When you close the hatch, it is jamming the latch hook into the wrong area.

Manually open the hatch. Unlock the hatch (even tho the hatch is already open). there are two bolts holding the metal "loop", the loop has moved. Adjust the metal loop and close the hatch / lock it, etc.

My back hatch lock won't turn and the electric lock won't unlock it (on my 99 plymouth Voyager). Is there a way I can get the hatch open so I can take off that back panel to get a better look?

First try spraying WD-40 or similar penetrant in key slot with little nozzle that comes with it. Stick it in as far as you can & spray while you pull it slowly out. It may take a few times & keep trying to work the key in between spraying. You'll have to get the key to work, or power lock to unlock. Spray all up inside around actual handle too, it may drip down on actuator & linkages for electric, and possibly get it working.
