My tension pully asembly has broken 4 times what could cause this

Clearly something else is happening. You didn't say whether it is a manual or automatic tensioner or what specifically has broken.

Mostly these are very reliable.
In the case of a manual tensioner it is important no to over-tension the belt.

Other possible causes are bent or misaligned pulley(s), wrong belt or defective torsional vibration damper (crankshaft pulley).
One final possibility I can think of is an egg-shaped pulley...

2008 chevy cobalt violent vibration arouhd 55mph ok below and above speed have replaced joints tires struts, vibration still there

Warped rotors or out of balance tires can cause this. Have you had a front-end alignment after putting these steering/suspension parts on? When replacing these parts IT IS CRITICAL TO HAVE ALIGNED. Also, Have you checked condition of front HUB/WHEEL BEARINGS?

Suspension problem in chev cobalt 2006

Have the tire checked for a separated internal steel cord, also for any signs of a bent wheel. Most tire shops will do this inspection for free.

Has a huge vibration after 60mph, already rotated tires and balanced them still problem persist?

Possible alignment issue. Tire shape miss-aligned as well. If humming sound is present have rear-end gears checked as well. Steering system loose or rims damaged/bent as well.

2008 cobalt has recently developed shimmy in front end at low speed..<45mph is problem alignment or something more serious??also, road noise which has always been somewhat loud has definitely increased.

Your cobalt should still be under warranty, so you should bring it back to the dealer. If you have done massive driving and your out of warranty, then il'd have to say that you may have a wheel bearing hub gone bad and needs to be replaced. Check the tire pressure first, tire condition and look for any signs if tire damage like tire belt separation. Tire belt separation is when the steel belt in the tires that keep the tire it's shape has broke and there is a flat spot causing the wheel shimmy. If your not sure, rotate the wheel by placing the front wheels to the rear and the rear to the front, making sure the tires are properly inflated to the recommended PSI. Good luck and start with checking the tire first.

Power steering shuts off all the time. have to shut car off and let it reset.

I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY COBALT LT (SE) }SPECIAL EDITION AND I RECENTLY HAD THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED AT THE DEALER, IT TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS. BUT GOT RID OF THE VIBRATION AND HARD STEERING PROBLEM PLUS NO RADDLING NOISES, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT SOME OF THE RADDLE WAS COMING FROM THE COMPUTER BOARD UNDER THE HOOD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED A PROBLEM THAT ALL COBALTS ARE ALSO KNOWN FOR ACORDING TO THE DEALER. I HOPE THIS HELPS ALL OF YOU IN NEED, GOD BLESS, JESUS LOVES YOU.
