Question about 1993 Toyota Tercel
94 toyota tercel control arm pivot bolt is stuck, just spins when I turn it, I think I stripped it out or it has fused to the nut it feeds into due to heavy rust damage (the control arm snapped from rust damage). Do I need to go in through the passenger side floor to get to the back of the bolt? I'm wondering if I can just dremel through what's left of my control arm and through the bolt in the middle then yank it out...please help! At this point I'm determined not to take this to a shop, I only paid 400 dollars for it and it will be worth much more to me if I can make this repair myself. I'm considering also using heat and a hammer to whack it, but I am afraid I've already torn the receiving end out of place and will need to brace it by holding onto it through the frame (there is no easy way to get to the back, I have two quarter sized holes that barely let my 17mm socket through on a breaker bar, but I can't see what I'm doing and have to just hope I get it all the way on there snug.. is the 17mm bolt end the same size as the nut it would feed into?
also, the receving nut doesn't need to be welded into place, does it? My haynes has been of little to no help with regards to what happens if the bolt doesn't loosten.
