Why wont my 1988 Jeep Cherokee start?

I had a steering columb in it and it was broke so i took it out and put one out of a 1990 and still doesnt work

    different harness. you need to match wire for wire.

If your engine is the six cylinder in line, check the connector going to the distributor ( hanging close to it) some times get rusted inside so, you can use some electric terminals cleaner spray.

check your fuses under the steering columb area, and also check fuses and relays, that is located in a power distribution black box under the hood, on the drivers side.

ford is usually pretty good about using same parts in things like that so i would think it would be fine

1998 jeep cherokee turns over/ no start. broken serpentine


if you are getting fire to the plgs its not the cranksaft sensor...if you arent getting fire you need to replace it they are simple to replace on the jeeps. took my son 5 minutes to change one out
