Pulled tbi cleaned carbon build up from pvc port replaced base plate gasket now engine wants to idle extremly high

Sounds like u may of forgot a vacume line a good way to find a vacume leak is to start car take a can of carb cleaner and spray it around intake and vacume lines if there's a leak motor will race as long as u keep spraing

u could use the old trick of spraying carb cleaner in different ares while idleing, to narrow it down, but you also could have a intake manifold leak

Just find a vacume hose that has vacume to it when you accelarate with car running pull a vacume hose off from carburator check by putting your finger or a vacume gage to it to see if you got vacume if not accelarate the carb by pushing accelarator (left side of carb driver side) if you have vacume when you accelarate you can use that vacume line

You do not need to connect the three vacume hoses to the EGR just find one that has vacume to it upon accelaration with the car running pull a vacume hose off the carburator with a vacume gage or your finger check to see if you got vacume if not accelarate carb if you do connect vacume line to EGR

I am looking for a vacumn pump for that runs with booster brake it is what generates pressure to the brakes

the vacume is produced by the engine not a pump if there is no vacume getting to the booster either the hos is disconnected (broken) or something is wrong with the engine..first disconnect the hose going to the booster start the engine and verify if there is suction by blocking the hose with your finger shut off the engine if there was vacume and your pedal is hard your brake booster is probably bad

I have 2005 f-250 super duty and the display reads "check fuel cap" I hit clear and now it reads "check engine"

the loose fuel cap can cause what the motor calls an emmisions leak, which will cause the check engine light to appear, if you have checked the cap and it is tight and the problem with the lights persist, there could be a vacume leak on the motor causing the same issue, some vehicals see the small vacume leak and just assume it is their fuel cap.

Windstar 2000 no vac at the booster-have great vac at the carb. just have regular brakes , no power brakes. don't believe to have a leak or at least one that I can hear engine runs fine

Check vacum at brake booster if you have vacum there bad brake booster, if you don't follow vacum line check there, vacum line should go to intake, if you do have vacum replace vacum hose.

Truck starts but idles really ruff. sometimes idles ruff and then dies. tried cleaning carb with carb cleaner, also disconnected fuel line at carb and checked for pressure and that was good. really need...

you probably have a vacume leak leading to vacume advance to listen for a vacume leak take a piece of garden hose @3 ft long stick one end to ear and the other end arround the distributer cap with the enging running it will saund like a hiss if you hear it replace the hose. which you can get at any auto parts store

you can take apart the top section and blow out the small passage that's bellow the throttle plate.

check the pcv valve vacum lines for a leak a vacum leak will set 171 174 codes. lift the hood with engine running and listen for a air leak , check all vacum lines if no vacum leaks can be found then clean the mass air flow sensor by spraying carb cleaner directly on it for about 5 seconds. in other words take the air filter cover up and spray down the tube that leads to engine. shine a light down hose first and see if u can see the mass air flow sensor so u can get a direct hit
