I don't know how to hot wire it, if possible? I looked at your security system, it said passlock. The pass lock key is just a mechanical key, no pellet or transponder in the key. It's the tumbler that communicates with passlock system, not the key. Your local dealership might get you a new key for about 20 bucks, don't quote on that. A locksmith will make you a new key, I don't know how much they charge?

SOURCE: 2005 chevrolet impala ignition swich

Even if you bypassed the switch, your steering would remain locked. In order to determine what is wrong with it, (other than the obvious) It will need to be taken apart. You will need a manual (such as Haynes, chilton etc) in order to do this safely and correctly.

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Impala key seats in ignition but will not turn

With the key in the ignition try turning the steering wheel side to side, it may require a bit of force in either direction to get the wheel freed up and allow the key to turn. This happens when you don't allow the steering wheel to come to a resting spot before removing the key from the ignition.

• A module which communicates on the class 2 serial data circuit which supplies VIN information to the radio is replaced and not properly setup with the correct VIN information for that vehicle. The only way to unlock the radio is by using a scan tool.

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Impala ignition switch stuck in off position

if it doesnt turn you have a worn out ignition cylinder, the only fix is to replace it, Code the ignition lock cylinder, if necessary

CAUTION:Perform the body control module (BCM) theft deterrent relearn procedure whenever you replace the ignition switch lock cylinder.

Installing a Dual XDVD276 radio in a 2005 Chevy Impala without the factory end of the wiring harness.

You will need to splice the wires as it will be hard to find the right connector to attach to the harness wires. Use the wiring diagram for the car (get it at Alldatadiy.com) and the one that came with the Dual unit to figure out which wires connect to each other.

My 2005 chevy impala won't start since someone broke into my car

i would say when the person broke into your car they set off the security system which stops the car from starting, the way to reset the security is to put your key into the ignition turn the key until all the dash lights come on and let them stay on about 15 minutes after the 15 minutes have expired turn the key off and wait about 3 seconds and then your car should start. hope this helps.

Door bell rings when key is out and drivers side door is opened on my 2005 chevy impala

Assuming the warning is for the key in the ignition, the problem could be the sensor inside the steering lock cylinder.

My 2000 chevy impala starts and runs for a bout 2 seconds. I've been told its the pass 2 security system I tried to bypass that it did not work so since the car has 2000000 thousand miles I thought I...

Well, you wont be able to hotwire it direct. Thats why the Passlock is there. The TDM (theft deterrent module-also called Body control module- or computer) must receive and send the correct signal to let the injectors work. Thats why you car is shutting down. I dont know what you used as a BYPASS, but there is a really great one here that illiminates ALL parts of this system permanently. Read through this link and check out the PERMANENT FIX part. Sounds like this is what you need. Trust me on this one, you will NEVER be able to hotwire that thing, They are wound REALLY tight, and the Passlock system has its fingers in more than just the starter, it allows fuel doors to open, injectors to spray, and sometimes spark in general.

The key wont turn on a 2005 chevy impala

Sometimes the simplest solution here is the steering wheel being locked to one side.. Try moving the wheel back and forth (it should only move about 1cm) and try turning the key simultaneously.

Key coding a 2001 Chevy Impala

Yes! After installed, trun key on (engine not running) for 30 mins.,trun off and back on for 10mins., turn off and back on for 10 mins. more; flashing light will go off turn off and try starting engine. Good luck! it's GM's reset for that.
