Question about 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

Open Question

Just started and would "clunk" at 3000 rpm and when I would slow to stop it acted like it wanted to die. flashing were the power steering and the yellow TC on the information panel. I looked underneath and restarted and it did not have problems again. Want to know if this is a precursor to a bigger problem?

My service engine light is blinking and the car acts like it wants to die (but doesn't) when stopped or in slow traffic.

The flashing service engine light blinking indicates a Catalytic converter damaging event is happening , a misfire ! Don't driver it like that ,you don't want to have to buy a catalytic converter ! They can cost as much as 1,000 dollars . Flashing Check Engine Light CarMD

Power steering problem when moving slow or rpm drop

no it is the power steering pump. the pump is worn so at low rpm or low speeds it is real tough to steer. but when the rpm is picked up the steering gets easier.

Also check belt tension but at high rpm speeds the belt would slip and squel real loud. so i would point the problem to the power steering pump.

hope this fixs ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dying out while stopped or somtimes turining..

i think that it might have something to do with your fuel pressure first thing i would check is if your fuel pump might be going out

4wd lights flashing

I know the 4wd lights flash a code and I have replaced a transfer case control module on one before but as for the clunk and engine dying maybe it is a combination of more than one problem
