How to fix a sliding door on a 2007 Kia Sadona van that keeps opening once closed.

If the Pontiac Trans Sport Van door is in the process of closing or opening (via motor), and the vehicle's ignition is engaged prior to the door fully closing or opening, the motor immediately stops. At this point, the only recourse is to manually close the door, as none of the power switches/handles respond again until the door has been manually closed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now 1st off it should be under warranty 5yr 60k miles or if you have the extended warranty 10yr 100k, there are service bulletins for updated actuators as well as software updates to fix the issue

should like water has frozen inside the door on the mech, its probely released by now , or water has cause a short in the door electrics

i just had to have this fixed on my 07 sedona on the bottom arm for the doors there are litle lock solinoids that go bad i would take it to a dealer to have it checked for the switch you can turn the power off to the doors and open them manualy but they are hard to open because you are pulling the cable instead of the motor doing it and this will not hurt the doors

If it is one door not working..... try this:

NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is openned
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button held
5. SLAM door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, usually the first try works!

NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.

I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same

There is a nut in the middle of the pulley. Remove that nut and slide the pulley off the shaft.
