Question about 2001 Volkswagen Beetle

1 Answer

'99 VW Beetle dies after running a short time, and won't start

This has been happening for about a month.  At first, it was very random.  Now, it won't drive more than 10 min. without dying.  Each time after it has cooled off, it will start up again.  There are NO CODES on the diagnostic tool.  Everything looks fine.  We're confident that it can be fixed, but don't know where to start.

Have a 2001 VW Beetle, dies for no reason. If you turn key off it will crank. Have replaced massive air flow meter, oxygen sensor, vaccuum pump and most all hoses and vaccuum valve. It will die going 55...

Sounds like Rpm Sensor G-28. if no signal is received from the rpm sensor the engine will die. won't start until it gets a signal. test the sensor but also the wiring from the sensor.

CANT GET VW BEETLE STARTED

hi if its not been started for five years and it is trying to start but just won,t keep running get someone to tow you and jump start it because i suspect the compressions will be low due to a build up of damp carbon valves sticking all in all the seats on the head and valve will not be seating so if you persisist with the jump start it forces the valves onto the seats and will clear the debrie if it still won,t go check your compressions yates210456

2000 beetle will die at random times, and will not start for about 15 minutes!

this can be caused by a bad fuel filter or dirty injectors. try a bottle of fuel injector or fuel system cleaner in a tank of gas. i suggest lucas products which can be found at any parts store.
