The distributor is the cam sensor and a bad mass air meter can cause this issue

1989 ford escort turns over but wont start

if all you did was this...and and put a new battery in and still wont start...if you have went thru your plugs..wires..distributor..ignition coil...made sure your getting spark..if not..check your relays and fuses..preferebly one that deals with spark and timing for injectors..if everything is fine to that point...then try a crankshaft position sensor...it tells the pcm timing for fuel injectors and fire to the ignition coil...hopefully this helps.

I am not getting fire to my plugs. I put a new coil, pickup coil and new plugs on it. It has the new style disriburtor in it. But all it will do is just turn offer. I checked the fuse and they show to be...

Look at your dash to see if the check engine light is lighting up when you turn the ignition on, before cranking. If it's not lighting up, your ecu might need to be repaired. Also, try leaving the ignition on for a while, about 30 minutes, to see if your check engine light does finally come on. The jeep should start if that light comes on.

Theft system light flashes and the vehicle will not start

the ignition switch needs to be repaired. the tumblers inside wear out and it wont recognize the key. put the key in and turn on until all the lights light up on instrument panel, just before turning it on, but don't and leave it like that for 10 minutes or until the light stops blinking and turns off. once that happens, turn off completely and start it up, it should fire right up.

No fire to coil

Before you replace the ignition coil, make sure that you do the folowing. Turn ignition to on, move automatic gear shift lever through the gears and when you move it back to park shove it harder than normal. Turn key completely off and then try to start the car.
If the car is not sufficiently in PARK or the park sensor switch is defective it will act like the car is turned off. Also you can try starting in NEUTRAL to troubleshoot whether the car will get fire.

Hi, just a random idea: are all the cables to the plugs okay? If there is no ignition, the problem could be there.

1996 golf gti wont fire up

what about checking the ignition or the fuel pump relay? i wouldnt try touching the positive and negative leads together even after five minutes as the ciruit has capacitors and inductors in them and this could cause damage to the electronics.if there's no fuel and no spark it sounds like a common fault. try disconnecting your immobiliser behind the glove box (most of the mk3's starts with them disconnected)
