It sounds like the antitheft system has become activated for some reason. Did you disconnect the battery? Let it go flat?

How do you reset a Chevy Cruze theft deterrent system? Press the unlock button, get out of the car, but leave the door open, then press the lock button on the door, and shut it. Simple as that.

Hi John electric fan comes on high, I assume it's the engine cooling fan you are talking about and not the heater.
I would check the coolant level first, if its very low this may set fan on high speed. If level is ok it may require a thermostat housing. My advise at this point would be to have it checked by a mechanic as it will now start costing money and you do not want to fit parts that may not be required.
If it is the heater cooling fan that comes on it will require the heater rheostat checking also the wiring in case its burnt. Good luck

Hi Lorraine does your car have any warranty, If yes hand it back to be repaired. If your car has no warranty my advise would be book it into Holden to be checked. This unfortunately could be a bit difficult to diagnose, There are a few issues that may be causing your problems but it needs to be tested to diagnose. Yes there may be a turbo problem possibly a thermostat fault. rocker cover may need removal to check for possible engine sludging. These are just a few areas that need to be checked. Also if any fault codes have been recorded. Good luck

Hi Graeme This one I would suggest taking to Holden for Diagnosis. One really needs to carry out some checks on the engine, Areas to check, Thermostat, is your vehicle loosing coolant possible Egr cooler leaking internally(normally series 2 engine). are the fans switching on? as I mentioned many areas require checking. Is there any internal sludging in the engine? Possible problem with cylinder head. It really needs a qualified person to look at it and plug in a diagnostic computer to see if that gives any clues.
