My LandRover lr3 was stuck in park I googled temperaily got it out to get it home but it is stuck again now. Is there a way I can reset it so the issue stops? Thank you for your help, Heather

Hi Heather, I'm Al the owner of Big A's Auto Repair
The easiest way to solve this problem is to replace the shifter unit itself. What happens is the solenoid on some units quits working and on other units the lever breaks and won't allow the shifter to move out of park. Give me a call from my website if you need further help. Have an awesome day Heather.

Check the condition and adjustment of the gear selector mechanism and cable all the way from the gear lever to the gearbox selector mechanism.

E brake stuck on my 1996 landrover disco

It will be either your rubber break hose that connects to caliper or your caliper piston is stuck. The way to check it is take it off all the way and try to push the piston in by hand, if it goes in then the prob is the hose if it is really hard to push in or doesnt go in at all then it is your caliper piston that is stuck.

How do i fit a towbar to a landrover discovery 2

towbar on a disco 2 is a straight forward bolt on job it attaches to the rear chassis and crossmember any good quality towbar kit will come with all bolts and washers you need plus instructions . if you get genuine landrover electrics they plug straight in without having to cut or join any wires.

hope this helps

Landrover discovery series 1 (1996) wiper motor burnt out (heavy snow) fitted new motor but wipers do not self park nor does it work on intermittent, could the relay be affected ??

Likely the relay is the problem, the multifunction switch can fail as well.
I have the troubleshooting diagram for electrical on Series 1 Discos but a very good working knowledge of electrical circuitry is necessary to use this info.

1998 Disco-Unable to remove key from ignition.

If disco is automatic move the transfer lever from high to low box and back again firmly then the key will come out there is a safety feature on the autos to prevent the key being removed if the transfer box is not in either high or low correctly with most dicso;s the transfer shift lever is stiff. through lack of use .once it is pushed in properly the key will release it works every time and I have had four v8 autos
basically you cant remove the key because even though the gearbox is in park if the transfer gears are not fully home the park sensor on the gearbox thinks it is out of gear eg not in park so wont let you remove the key and leave the car out of gear in case it rolls away .Dan

Steering noisy and stiff

The belt is loose or dirty or the pullys are of a different V Degree. Check all of these things

Good Luck

Why did my airfilter box explode? A Landrover Disco.

Hi,
If an inlet valve stuck or has a crack - it may ignite the rest of the gas/air mix - causng a backfire into the airbox.

This may be temporary or a permanent- recurring problem. Only by taking the head off can you check valve conditions and that all springs and guides are good.

This is the most likely cause - pre-ignition from a slow to close valve.

Problem with electronic hand brake screeching and showing an error on the display on my LR3 land rover discovery 3 , 2004 discovery 3 2.7 TDv6 HSE, its out of warranty (have done 22,000 miles) and have...

Just had this same issue with my 57 plate Discovery SE - great guy from the AA took the small plate off that sits immediately to the rear of the hanbrake button in the central console - he then hooked a wire around the cable you see in there and gave it a mighty tug. The result is that my brake is now disengaged (rather than stuck-on as before) and LR will need to cure the source of the problem under warranty. Car is automatic so can use "park" until full repair.
