Check to make sure you have a good ground in the plug. Sometimes the ground side completes the circuit thru a relay to energize the fuel pump. And refer to your owners manual to make sure your car is not equiped with an inertia switch.

WE PUT NEW FUEL PUMP ON B2300 MAZDA 1994 YOU PUT GAS IN THE THROTTLE AND IT RUNS BUT WILL NOT START NO OTHER WAY

New pump may be bad--it happens. There should be a check valve that keeps fuel from draining back when you turn it off. If this is not working it could cause this.

Why am I not getting fuel to carb? New fuel pump, filter, relay, fuses. Van was running, shut off for a half hour, but will not start. Not getting fuel, replaced relay again, checked fuses again. Jumped...

Are you getting the ignition activated voltage to the relay? If you are, and you can jump across the relay to turn on the pump, I would say your relay is defective. If you know the relay pins for the ignition input and ground, you should be able to test it outside its plug in socket. You should hear it click when +12V and ground are applied to the proper pins/connectors for the ignition voltage. An ohm meter could be put across the supply +12V and fuel pump pins/connectors to really check the operation. If you think your relay is good. I would start checking for a bad +12V connection for your ignition supply, as well as the +12V that is switched through the relay. And the grounds to all. Use some contact cleaner on relay pins and socket. Ignition switch contacts can cause issues too. If it stays broke at least it should be easier to find than something that is intermittent. Based on what you stated, most of your troubleshooting should be at the relay socket (knowing which connectors do what) to isolate the issue to the relay, your ignition voltage, or your fuel pump voltage. After that it is knowing which step to take next.

2013 honda fury fuel relay fuse keeps blowing put new one n an turn key on it blows ????? Why?

the relay is only a current buffering device, ( a poor mans transistor i call it)
if the pump or it's wires are shorted, the relay can melt.
the first test is pump voltage
if the volts is like 6v (low) cranking we pump check current.
5 amps is typical for these small cars.
15 amps is bad.
if confused get a automotive electrics/electronics tech to fix it.
He has a nice meter to find this fast.
here is one.

the best tool is the AMP CLAMP (DC amperes)
i put it on the line and check pump current.
the pump is fuel cooled and fuel lubricated, never run the tank dry.
nor run the car (pump) with filter clogged, it overloads the pump.

1995 ford contour cranks but won't start, change fuel filter, fuel pump, and spark plugs. Not getting any spark.

Have you ever heard of testing before replacing parts ? Fuel pressure an flow tesing , testing the electrical circuit for the fuel pump , amp draw testing , voltage drop testing etc... Thier are no magical fixes in auto repair . No spark ! check B+ voltage an ground circuits for the ignition system , Ignition System Designs Operation and Testing an SD Premium video

2001 ford focus code p1237 showin will not run how do i fix it

Hi hope I can help.
P1237 : fuel pump secondary circuit FD driver module.
What you need to do is check the voltage at the fuel pump.
Hook your meter to the fuel pump and have a helper turn on the key.
You should see voltage for 2 seconds , you can also hear the pump buzz when it turns on.
If you don't hear the pump turn on, but you have 12v at the pump your fuel pump has failed
If you don't get nether pump or voltage . then check your fuel pump relay.
Hope this helps Please leave feedback

Fuel pump was intermittent now just dont hear it come on anymore.

are they good in the way that your getting power with a test light or volt meter?? if you are getting 12 volts with the ignition on or if you can actually hear the fuel pump relay clicking then its probably the pump itself or the wiring from the relay back to the pump. see if you can get at the wiring at the gas tank and try for voltage there with the ignition on if you get voltage then you have pump problems for sure

1997 GMC K1500 4x4 5.7 ex.cab SFI injection system

I would check the fuel lines themselves and make sure there is no blockage. If not you might want to check your fuel injectors and see if they need to be replaced. also make sure you didnt install fuel filter backwards.

1997 GMC K1500 4x4 5.7 ex.cab SFI injection system

Hey there boatright33,

A few things things immediately come to mind.

There may be a problem with the engine controller. You could check the ODBII onboard diagnostics. Auto part stores will usually do this for you at no cost.

When you pulled the ones that were/went bad, how did the filters look? Could there be particulate matter still in the tank causing them to fail.

I always put this one off until last. Check the injectors. Are they gummed up?

Let me know what you find out
Mike

1997 GMC K1500 4x4 5.7 ex.cab SFI injection system

fuel pump died replaced it truck ran poorly afterwards. Had a prussuer test done pump determend pump was no good. Put in another ran good for 2 days started running poorly hard to start no power. 2nd fuel pump. So i figure another bad new fuel pump wow changed it put in a third brand new fuel pump. Still will not eve start now. I had it tuned up 2 months ago new plugs rotor, cap, etc. put in a new fuel filter made sure it is on proper checked all connections for leaks. this cannot be a fuel pump problem now. no problem with the elctrical i figure i have great spark on ignition tester. I can hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key. but when i went and checked the fuel port i had no pressure. When it is being cranked gas sews out of the test port. Also i dont if this is comon cause i used to turn my keyand go. but when i have someone turn the key and i listen at the gas tank whn the key is shut off i hear gs spraying back into the gas tank. So i am open for opinions.
