SOURCE: overheating

1. start the engine and leave the radiator cap open.
2. put a cardboard cover or a rug in the front of you radiator.
3. let it runs 20 minutes or more, see if it is overheated and see the water or coolant in the radiator circulated or not. If not, as soon as you have already changed water pump. thermostate and check the hoses, no leak, I think your radiator was blocked.

Did you put stop leak before?

SOURCE: replaced water pump. thermostat. radiator, filled

Try backflushing,if this doesn't solve the problem,..then it could be the distributor, they can make the car run hot if the are going out.

SOURCE: Overheating engine

Check your oil dipstick for coolant, or a mucky substance. Your symptoms sound like a blown head gasket.

SOURCE: 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix OVERHEATING!!!

Have you shop perform a "leakdown test." You probably have a bad head gasket )or a leak in the gasket).

SOURCE: Nissan Sentra 2001 - Overheating but no hot air

It could be just air in the system, or it could be the heater matrix just by your feet, fitted central dash, check to see if the two water pipes that go into the car from the engine compartment are hot if there is only one that is then thats your problem, but if they are both cold the problem is more to do with where the water is coming from, please let me know how you get on

Radiator overheating, no leaks anywhere, may be thermostat or water pump?

If your vehicle's radiator is overheating and there are no visible leaks, it is possible that the problem could be caused by a faulty thermostat or water pump. These components are responsible for regulating the flow of coolant and water through the radiator and engine, and if they are not functioning properly, it can cause the engine to overheat.
To determine if the thermostat or water pump is causing the overheating issue, you will need to perform some diagnostic tests and checks. Here are a few steps you can follow:
  1. Check the thermostat: The thermostat is located in the engine and controls the flow of coolant through the radiator. If the thermostat is stuck in the closed position, it can prevent the coolant from flowing and cause the engine to overheat. You can test the thermostat by removing it from the engine and checking it for proper operation.
  2. Check the water pump: The water pump is responsible for circulating the coolant and water through the radiator and engine. If the pump is not functioning properly, it can cause the engine to overheat. You can test the water pump by removing the drive belt and attempting to turn the pump by hand. If the pump is seized or not turning smoothly, it may need to be replaced.
  3. Check the coolant level: Make sure that the coolant level in the radiator is at the proper level. If the coolant level is low, it can cause the engine to overheat.
If you are unable to determine the cause of the overheating issue, it is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic who can perform a more thorough diagnostic test and identify the root cause of the problem. They will be able to recommend the appropriate repairs to fix the issue and prevent further overheating.

2000 Oldsmobile Alero losing water and running hot.

A worn water pump is the most likely. If the coolant is going down, the water is going somewhere.

The most common reasons an Oldsmobile Alero is overheating are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat. Coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.)

Oldsmobile Alero Overheating - RepairPal

Videos on overheating. You probably have air in the system from when you replaced the thermostat. The coolant system needs 'burping' of air.

My 2001 pt cruiser limited over heated. It has already had a new radiator and both fans replaced with in the year. Should i now replace the water pump which is the original?

Overheating is caused by:
1. plugged radiator core
2. Wrong mix of water and coolant.
3. Low coolant level.
4. stuck thermostat
5. hoses collapsing.
6. Air lock in system
7. Bad fins on water pump.

I have an 1997 chevy camro rs w a 134000 miles that is overheating the engine an water pump has been replaced an i stil cant find what is causing it to overheat

It could be the thermostat not opening and closing as it should. Or it could be a bad overflow/radiator cap. If the cap starts to go bad, it won't hold pressure and this will cause overheating. Good Luck. There are other major issues possible, but hopefully it's not. Start the engine cold and as the engine warms you should feel the thermostat open and water flowing as you hold the radiator hose, just be careful around moving fans.

After changing the thermostat and water pump my 06 jeep grand cherokee keeps overheating

2 things.
Are the electric fans coming on?
You have a water flow problem.Either engine or radiator. These are the 1st 2 things to look at.
Barring head gasket problems(which is unlikely)I would get these things checked by a GOOD radiator cooling specialist.
Hope this helps

2 fan motors not cooling the radiator and still overheating

If there was alot of debris, like you stated, it could have clogged the water pump. If you think about it, there really isn't all that much to a cooling system. Radiator, fan, thermostat, and water pump. These are the main components and by process of elimination, I would suspect the water pump. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

I had the same problem. My Chrysler LHS kept overheating. I had the thermostat changed out first and it didn't help. Then I had the water pump changed out and still did no good. Then changed out the radiator, still overheated. Come to find out the people that changed my thermostat put it in backwards. Evidently, the thermostats for these cars look different from all the others and people are not sure how to put them in. I took mine to a Chrysler dealer and they fixed it for me.

2000 Sunfire coolant problem. Engine overheating, changed water pump, thermostat, put new head gasket, checked head, no warp. Started car, went to temperature, blows water out of reservoir. Checked...

ok, its time for a radiator flush. there is major sludge in the internals of this radiator. Make sure the thermostat is in the correct position as well. I've seen many cars come into my shop with the thermostat inserted backwards.
