Car cranks but does not start has good ohms from ingnition to computer box but nothing from computer box to ecm.

Need a fix for no injector pulse, cam signal, and no start


Have you checked to make sure the security system isn't preventing it from starting?

If not, the cam and crank sensor needs to correlate in order to have injector pulse and spark, so I would start by probing the cam sensor to check for AC current while cranking if there is current ohm the wires to the ecm, if the ohm reading is less than 1 ohm it sounds like a computer problem

99 sportage no start. Tried havin someone turn key to on and i held finger on main relays unser hood. No click at fuelpump but ecu good. I switched realys around and got same result tho. Bad fuse box?


So , no click at fuel pump relay ? an you switched relays ? Do you own a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? This is what pro techs do , check for volts , ohms an open circuits at the fuel pump relay ! Two of the places the relay plugs into should have battery voltage , One if you switch you meter to ohms from volts should have a few ohms 4 -5 this is down to ground through the fuel pump .The last spot should be open , this is the control circuit from the ECM ! Do you know what an ECM is ? You can check this also with a test light , clamp end to battery positive , point end to the last spot an have someone crank over the engine . I would -start by checking the code from the computer you scjould
get a code from it are you having a problem with the alarm at all
sometime the alarm. Cause problems but even then a code woou
s be my first start there is a thing called am ingniter it a am
Small box for ingnition it hoopla up to the coil see if you getting current to the coil if not that's the 2nd thing to check I think that it please turn the key on so it's hot I think that's it please check and reply

P1682 CHEVROLET Description There are 2 ignition voltage circuits supplied to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The first ignition circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The second ignition 1 voltage circuit is supplied by the run/crank relay through a fuse, and is used to power the remaining internal ECM circuits. Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Starts and dies on acceleration then will not run


crank shaft position sensor is most likely cause. Do check ignition and fuel pump relays with an ohmmeter to make sure they are not faulty. Check power to ignition module. You can also check crank sensor with the ohmmeter. Check all vacuum hose and also check throttle position sensor.

Remave the battery cables from the battery and clean the connections and replace bolts. Have seen this before.
