The steering wheel makes a clicking sound but not that loud when driving straight or when making a turn. Is that mean the rack and pinion of my car are bad?

I went to a dealer but they didn't say anything about the steering wheel, but when I went to an independent shop they told me that the rack and pinion are not good.

Take it back to the dealer. The problem could be a Constant Velocity Joint wearing out.
Replacing the rack and pinion is an exceedingly expensive repair. Replacing a CV joint or axle is significantly less expensive.
It sounds as if your dealer is honest.

SOURCE: installed rack and power steering pump is good but

To check the pump, squeeze the return line with pliers with the pump running. If the pump is good it will whine when you do this.

SOURCE: The front end of my ford ranger squeak terribly.

Check for tight/frozen tie rod ends. I had this problem on my 98 Explorer and after putting up with squeaks for an extended time and many trips to the dealer and other front end shops they finally figured it out. Usually these parts fail by having too much play and in this case they were seizing up.

SOURCE: My car makes a loud

Possible. If you have changed tires lately, make sure they put the right size tires on. If they went up in size by any measure, it could be rubbing on the tire well and thus making the noise. Check the users manual if you have it and check to make sure the tire sizes are correct. Also check your power steering fluid. That would make a humming or moaning noise but it would be noticeable while turning.

Remove rack pinion

if your going to replace the rack and pinion make sure you pull the screw completely out of the rack. there actually is a place on the round splines made to receive the screw. you should see a place rounded out for the screw to go through. if you still have problems with getting it out you can try to use two flat screw drivers to pry up on the rack where it goes down on the splines. make sure that you have your wheels straight when you put the new rack back in so that the rack will turn the wheels properly to the right and to the left the same amount of turns each way. keep your steering wheel straight so that it is in the right way that your able to see your speedometer and dash lights or gauges. make sure that your steering wheel is straight across horizontal. let me know if this helps you. god bless

Replace rack pinion

He is probably telling you the truth as most cars have around 4 turns lock to lock. The clicking sound you are hearing is the turn indicator switch under the wheel clicking as you go past the fingers that activate the lever to off position. The only thing I would check first is that the steering shaft coupling onto the pinion shaft is tight and the clamp bolt is still there. Otherwise it will be a new/reconditioned rack and pinion box

When I turn my wheel either left or right it makes a loud whinning noise, and when I turn it, the powersteering fluid seems to leak out?

You have a bad Power steering Pressure hose. The whine is a lack of power steering fluid at the rack, and to continue to drive it this way will destroy the rack and pinion unit.

Right turn loud groaning

I would say you have bad wheel bearings on the front. More noise turning right means the left is REALLY bad.
