There should be a full mark on the transmission dipstick. If not take it to a dealer and have it checked.

SOURCE: Transmission occasionaly hesitates and I can feel it when it shifts, more than I should.

There are diagnostic tools that could help detect what your problem is. The Snap-On Modis, or preferably a "Tech-2" GM scanner. Any reputable transmission shop, or GM dealer should have at least one of the two. It sounds to me like it could be the transmissions "EPC" (Electronic Pressure Control solenoid) The EPC controls main line pressure, in an effort to keep shift firmness, and shift duration at one specific level. This is to compinsate for the natural wear a transmission encounters, and to keep emissions as low as possable, by keeping shift duration low. When the EPC malfunctions (and thats somthing that they like to do in the 4t65E), it typically starts to shift harder than normal. They typically throw a P1811 code. (P1811 is a "max adapt-long shift" code) And the malfunction can be intermittent. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Your problem is the TPS sensor, check with your dealer, the replacement is very cheap.

Cant find transmission dip stick

There isn't one, the transmission is sealed and the dealer needs a special tool to check the level and temperature of the fluid before level is check.

I've got a 2003 Kia Sorento It felt like the trans was slipping - took it to the mechanic and they replaced the rear U-joints and the carrying bearing (said it wasn't the trans); it helped but it still is...

Please first off - take down the vin number - call the dealer - ask about RECALLS.

Once done - take the car to the dealer - tell them you called about recalls and ask them to just show you how to check your auto trans level. Nothing more. If this continues to slip try adding Royal Purple Transmission fluid - IF your fluid has been changed as scheduled and is current. If not - change the fluid and filter - then add [ as the last quart ] Royal Purple to the Transmission after the change. Only to top off - not to overfill so leave one quart shy of full then add the Royal Purple.
Best of it. 178e9d2.gif
