Just replace it. It bolts in. You need to know which one though!

How can tell which lower motor mount is bad on my 2004 chevy impala 3.4 liter ? Does a bad motor mount make the engine have grinding noises after running the car?

With the park brake on, start the engine with the hood open so you can see it through the windshield. Put it in reverse and give it some gas, if the engine moves up, you have a broken mount. Do the same in drive. If the motor moves up then the mount on the side of the engine that moved up is broken. If these tests don't show a broken mount then your grinding noise is coming from elsewhere.

Possible broken motor mount(s)

Check your motor mounts. Broken doesn't always mean "in Pieces". A motor mount is basically a shock absorber made of some type of rubber, held in place by a metal bracket.

I suspect i may have a broken motor mount on my 99 mercury sable. What are the symptoms of a broken mount?

You forget the symptoms & check them over

You use a long pry bar to see if you can raise up the
motor or trans mounts, you will see if they are broken

Not easy to do,takes some time to decide if they are
in need of replacement

I think you have 3

Do all of them 2 for motor 1 for transaxle

MY mechanic said my motor mount was broken (dogbone). I was a mechanic before I was a carpenter, can I replace this?

yes you can, fairly easy fix usually. requires you to get a new mount, support motor with jack and undo motor mount bolts, raise motor off the mount, replace mount, lower motor back into position, resecure motor mount bolts, and your done. usually just the rubber gets worn out on those things, pretty common.

M car started to shake and enginelight flashed...i purchased spark plugs and wires like the salesperson said to and said it would stop but it still does it. i have also addedd "heat" to the gas tank...

Possible broken motor mount. A broken motor mount can do that. To check to see if one is broken ,open hood ,start engine, press foot on brake hard, put in gear and give it some throttle. If the engine moves a lot then u have a broken motor mount.
