2003 trailblazer wont start. I turn the key and get one click.

Take care when following these tips.
The click is the starter relay but the starter is dead. If its the type with a solenoid riding on the outside try a jump lead straight on the terminal that has the battery lead on it.
If nothing and there is a second terminal closer to the starter body try that one. If the starter responds with a spin you will probably have to remove it, fit a replacement solenoid or another starter.
Tapping the starter only works if the solenoid is a bit dicky.

Was turning over but now just clicks and won't start; horn works, lights work

Check your battery voltage, should be 12.5v if so, your next step is to try and tap on the starter, it may be at a "dead spot". Depending on how long you cranked the motor over for could of burnt out the starter brushes. Meaning you may need a new starter but try tapping on it first with a piece of wood or rubber mallet. The clicking is just the solenoid jumping, but the starter motor itself isn't moving, which results to needing to be replaced.

01 mustang gt cranks once

Sounds to me that your starter is gone. There is one thing you can do, try tapping ya starter and then try starting the car. If it starts then you have what is called a dead spot in ya starter. The only fix for this is a new starter. Make sure that you dont have a bad wire going to your starter also. Hope this helps.

1991 Lexus 400 - engine doesn't start - battery seems charged - 12.3 volts - makes clicking sound only - doesn't turn over at all.

Is it one click or multiple clicks. If it's multiple clicks, it sounds like a dead battery. Voltage isn't always an indicator of a good battery, you need to have enough cranking amps to be able to start an engine also. If you have dash lights and it only clicks once, you could have a bad starter. An easy way to check this is to try and jump start the vehicle. If it starts up with a jump start, you need a new battery. If it still doesn't start up and it just clicks, you probably need a new starter.

Good Luck!

Car won't start, have power to the lights. Had battery checked and is good. Turn key five or more times no clicking then it will start.

You may have a possible dead spot in the starter. Is it a manual or automatic transmission>??

If manual, did you try to push the vehicle a little bit to rotate the flywheel a bit?

Other things: Poor ground either at the starter or frame - check battery ground to chassis as well.

Other: again perhaps a bad starter

If I have a weak battery or there is acid leak from the battery would the car still have power but not turn over i have a loud ticking noise like something is not catching but my battery isnt dead what...

if your battery is good and your try to start your car and all you hear is clicking, that means yoru starting is satrting to fail and it doesnt catch. but try this to see if its your starter. Locate your starter and have soembody cranking the engine while yout tap little bit on the started with a piece of metal or little hammer, This will make the starter catch in al least ones and will show you if it is the problem. And this method worked for me 40 times out of 50. Good luck bro

Will not always jump start. Check battery connection and corrosion at terminals and check connections at starter. If all connections are good while trying to start it have someone tap on the starter and or starter solenoid. If starts while tapping suspect bad starter. Check Voltage at battery should not be lower than 11.5 if so suspect bad battery when put under a load such as starting a/c lights etc..

Car wouldnt start replace ignition switch, clutch switch then starter worked for 2 days now starter clicks but wont start left overnight car starter but when turned off wont restart

sounds like there is a dead spot in the starter. i think the other stuff may not have needed to be replaced. when the car won't start, have someone try to start while you TAP the starter with a hammer.- probably the starter, though.

Starting Toyota Estima Lucida

There are various things this could be ie inhibitor switch on auto box relays wiring fault or ignition barrel problems try putting the starting the car in N instead of P and wiggle gear lever about other option bypass everything and connect a live feed straight to starter motor cranking wire which is located on the starter motor, if car still wont turn over tap starter motor with a hammer, if hammer trick works then you need a new starter
