Hello I need the 14 volt 1000ma barrel-end charger for the Kalee Fire Truck. 40029 I can't get it anywhere

Okay so I have your answer probably is your charger and it's possible that you could test that charger if you know how to use a Multimeter but I have a better idea that's a cute little toy truck you bring the battery to come inside of it and that charger up to your local auto parts store and free of charge till test each of those for you and you know whatif it ends up needing a batteries will be able to match you up a battery you can just cut the clips from the old battery and connected to the new battery it's pretty easy. I still think it might be your charger though are the connections you really need to take it to the auto parts store i promise the boys there will help u out.

bring your child with u and show them a picture of the truck and how could they say no.

if that didn't work your local fire department boys will check it too.

14 volts is close (14.5-14.8 volts is required
and 9 when shut down indicates a bad battery
have it load tested and then have the alternator tested for rectifier pack operation
there should be 14.5 volts DC at the battery when running or it is not charging the battery
if you have 14 volts AC replace the alternator with a serviceable unit

Have the battery load tested to verify that it is still good. Using a volt meter check how far your voltage drops at the battery while cranking. It should drop no more than 9.5 volts. If it goes lower then its the battery. If that is ok, then check your battery terminals for corrosion. Clean then anyway. Once you fire it up again check your charging system by hooking up a volt meter to the battery. You should have anywhere from 14 to 14.5 volts. if it is less then your alternator is bad.
So to recap while cranking your battery must stay above 9.5 volts. Once running, the alternator should produce 14 to 14.5 volts. If that all checks out then you have a starter that is breaking down and needs to be replaced. Good luck!

probably goes to the battery to excite the coil,but it should be on a key switch hot wire,that means wire gets hot when turning the key on

make sure the alt. is still working 13/14 volts

It looks like the altenator is overcharging. Take it in to an autoelectrician and have it checked out on their bench. 15 amps is a bit high for a charging rate, 14 amps is just about the limit.

It sounds like your alternator is not kicking in when the truck first starts. There is a wire that "tickles" the alternator to get it charging when you first start the truck, however it will start charging without that once you rev the engine up. A couple of good shots with the fuel pedal should snap the guage up to 14. If it climbs up slowly to 14 then the alternator is starting to wear out or you have poor contact.Get the alternator tested for output. If it's okay take the wires off the alternator and battery and clean up the ends so you have bare shiny metal and clamp them back down tight. Make sure you have radio codes and procedures before you unhook the battery. Hope this helps.

Check the plug in for looseness and corrosion. Also clean up the ground wire to bare shiny metal. If wiggling the plug around makes the voltage number change then you should replace both ends of it.**** connectors and heatshrink tube will make a lasting job. Hope this helps.

Check harness with test light over on drives side under hood, you'll see a few connector that go into the fire wall, check at connector at both ends of plug for voltage, also check for fuse links at stater solenoid.

Sounds like low voltage.
Get a boost from another car with a good set of cables.
Once started check voltage with booster car disconnected.
Is it around 14 volts?
If so,the truck is charging, so it may be time for a new battery.

If the voltage is at 12 or lower while running the truck is not charging.
May be time for a new alternator.

The battery should have charged enough in 1 hour to start the truck.
You may need a battery and alternator.
