I have 2004 jeep Cherokee called locksmith and got new transponder key yesterday and now it's not starting my jeep the transponder light comes on the dash. What can I do?

I strongly suggest you get the locksmith involved. Their transponders should be tested and function. I would start with them first. It may be defective?

Why didn't you take it to the cadillac dealer an have it fixed the proper way ? Not trying some st**id by-pass . You have no idea of the complexity of that vehicle . Computers talk to other computes .signals from the ignition switch to the BCM , BCM sends message on the class two serial data network . This car is nothing like caddys of the 80's ,an they too had thier own complexity ! I was working at a caddy dealer in the 80's .
The body control system consists of the following 2 modules:
• The Dash Integration Module (DIM)
• The Rear Integration Module (RIM)

You people make more problems trying by-pass cr*p , then it would to fix it the proper way .
The vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system functions are provided by the theft deterrent control module. When an ignition key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition is switched ON, the transponder embedded in the head of the key is energized by the exciter coils surrounding the ignition lock cylinder. The energized transponder transmits a signal that contains its unique value, which is received by the theft deterrent control module. The theft deterrent control module then compares this value to a value stored in memory, learned key code. If the value is correct the theft deterrent control module sends a random generated number to the transponder, this is called a challenge. Both the transponder and the theft deterrent control module perform a calculation on the challenge, if the calculations match the theft deterrent control module sends the fuel continue password via the serial data circuit to the engine control module (ECM). If either the transponders unique value or the calculation to the challenge is incorrect the theft deterrent control module will send the fuel disable password to the ECM via the serial data circuit. The components of the VTD system are as follows:
• The theft deterrent control module
• The engine control module (ECM)
• The ignition key (transponder)
• The ignition lock cylinder
• The security indicator

How do I bypass the immobiliser on mitshebushy l200

If you are looking to bypass the immobilizer permanently that is not an option. If you are installing a remote starter there are several options if you have the proper transponder key. Some company's offer bypass modules that can be programmed to the vehicle if you have 2 transponder (chip) keys. If you have only 1 key you can have it cloned and put into a device that is known in the industry as a key coffin. This device couples the signal from the coded key in the coffin into a loop or coil of wire wrapped around the key cylinder when enabled to let the car start without the transponder key in the ignition. Look for remote start bypass modules on the internet th find one for your car. Some devices can be flash programmed to your vehicle again if you have the transponder key or keys. Otherwise the only way to bypass it is with the proper factory scan tool available to dealers this is only temporary.

equipped with an SID (Saab Information Display) unit that displays various information about the amount of fuel left, the radio station you're listening to and the key's battery status. It is time to change your key batteries if the key stops working or responds slower than usual. The SID on your car will also say "Replace Key Battery." Saab keys use either a CR 2032 or a CR 1632 battery depending on key type. There are two types of keys. The first generation key has one key and a transponder and the second generation key is a one piece key with a built in transponder.
First Generation Key
  • 1 Loosen the single screw that is located by the key ring. Use the small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw that is on top of the transponder.
  • 2 Lift the plastic top. Remove the old battery and insert the new CR 2032 battery.
  • 3 Put the transponder back together and tighten the screw using the Phillips screwdriver.
  • 4 Press the alarm five times to re-synchronize the transponder with your car.
  • Second Generation Key
  • 1 Push the plastic catch with the pushpin to open the cover latch. The transponder has a plastic catch that is hard to depress. The pushpin will separate it.
  • 2 Lift the plastic cover. Remove the old battery and replace it with the new CR 1632 battery. Position the battery properly.
  • 3 Put the cover back and press the plastic together.
  • 4 Test the transponder with your car to make sure it is working.

    Disable transponder chip keys

You have to measure the resistance across the key and get a resistor of the same value at radio shack and jump it across the wires at the security box, this way the security system thinks the key is always inserted. We did this with 1989 firebird some years ago and it worked great.

    The Ignition Key (Transponder)
The ignition key for PASS-Key® III equipped vehicles is a typical ignition key using a transponder pellet located in the end of the key. The ignition key transponder value is used in order to determine if a valid ignition key is being used in order to start the vehicle. When the ignition key is inserted into the ignition cylinder and the PASS-Key® III module detects the ignition voltage (the ignition switch is in RUN or START) the module measures the transponder pellet value. The PASS-Key® III module validates this value and performs the following functions:
    • If the ignition key transponder value is valid, the PASS-Key® III module performs the following (system enable) functions:
    - The PASS-Key® III module sends a pulse width modulated signal to the PCM to request fuel enable.
    - The PCM enables the fuel system.
    - This function enables the engine to start.
    • If the ignition key transponder value is invalid, the PASS-Key® performs the following (system disable) functions:
    - The PASS-Key® III module does not send the fuel request signal to the PCM.
    - The PCM does not enable the fuel system.
    - This function does not enable the engine to start and run. The engine may start and then stall due to residual fuel in the fuel system.
The PASS-Key® III module can identify up to 10 valid key codes to operate the vehicle.

Having excess thing's on you ring , including other PASS-Key® III keys , can confuse the computers .
