Question about 2003 Jeep Wrangler

Jeep stuck in park!

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. It is a 6 cyl. automatic. It is on level ground and is stuck in park. I know I have to press the brake pedal to shift, but I can't move the shifter from park. When I press the button on the shifter, it goes all the way in with no resistance. I checked the brake pedal switch, in that my brake lights do come on. The button on my shifter goes all the way in whether I've got the brake pressed or not. I also checked my fuses, but they're all good (I didn't check the ones under the hood because I didn't think they applied. Please help!

Jeep wrangler 2005 automatic floor gear shifter is loose won't engage stuck in park

try pushing the knob down onto the shifter a little bit then try and shift. Sometimes if that knob is raised even a little bit it will be locked in park. Can't be 100% sure without seein it but worth a shot. Hope that helps you.

there is an oil seal between the transfer case and trasnmission housing, if your bearings have gotten hot in the transfer case, this could have caused the oil to heat up and damage the mechanical seal
