I have a Buick century 2000 3.1 and I have a gas leak I already checked gas lines filter ,fuel pump and none of those leak whatelse can I check .... I smell it more on the drivers side in the hood what...

Check the EVAP system - the smell may be coming from it. There is a vapor recovery canister that may be cracked, full of gas or with a bad tubing connection. As part of the system, there are also usually two vent valves to relieve vapor pressure in the gas tank - one on the engine and one towards the rear of the car. If you have a loose connection or one is stuck open, you can get that smell.

I'm smelling gas fumes inside the car when I'm idling but as soon as I accelerate it goes away

Gas smells come from leaks or the engine running too rich ( over fueled ). You need to inspect for any wetness/dampness around the fuel lines/rail and injectors if the smell appears from under the hood. If the engine is over fueled, a scan test can be performed to find out why. Sometimes oil leaks on/around the exhaust system can also give a fuel type smell. Have the vehicle checked for this also.

I have a 03 Hyundai Tiburon it want fire the battery went dead I replaced it it turns over fine but it want start no fire what could be the problem

assuming a lot , try some things
look up the crank sensor it all starts there.
how to test it depends on even more ,
try simple things 1st
open gas cap to release pressure
put in new gas
smell the exhaust , does it have any gas smell
smell the oil an look at it , has gas or water in it or very dirty.
smell the transmission fluid for burning smell , <just for info
see that it has spark , listen to them on the am radio static or pull one an let it spark to ground. use a screwdriver. stick you finger up it replaced battery means it might have died in a zap. check the fuses.
check for aux power wire fuses .
open the air filter and spray in 1oz fuel only to see if it changes at all ,not to start it ..

Check engine light is on and the car runs rough at idle only. There is also a burning smell when I exit the car coming from under the hood. What could be the issues?

have a parts store pull code, to see what sensors r at fault, tps throttle position sensor may need adjust, oxygen sensor needs replaced, may have two ? both need replaced. gas cap might b faulty ? in any event, the trouble code must b cleared out from computer, after repaired is made. if engine light comes back on, reclear it. sometimes intermittant sensor problems occur, engine light comes back on. well, the gas we buy with ethanol is killing our engines, put some fuel stabilizer in @ next fuel up. but try some fuel injector cleaner first, winter gums up injectors, soooo ! fuel filter replacement is always in need, people don\'t get it, replace all filters, air, fuel, oil, get it ? maintenance is a necessary evil. u change yur clothes ever day, right ? well, same thing., good luck, ken

No power when I step on the gas and is smoking bad

Smoke from tail pipe or smoke from under hood?
A general rule of thumb if it is coming from tail pipe the color of smoke will tell you a lot.

White and thick means head gasket failure, Blue means oil is being burned.

I would recommend you check the seal of everything and make sure it is cleaned that had to do with vacuum or fuel distribution. EGR valve (gasket fails sometimes) IAC valve, MAP and MAF sensors, Fuel injectors, FPR (this will need replaced if leaking),

Also check you coolant and oil look for signs of either one mixing with one another, smell you coolant and make sure it don't smell like gas either, look around where the head meets the block and make sure you don't have any coolant leaking there. The smoke if from the tail pipe makes me think head gasket and these are simple checks. They are not 100% diagnosis but can lead you to the problem.

Also one obvious thing would be make sure no one put anything in your gas tank.

I would most likely look at the injectors first then the head gasket next.

Gas smell and burning smell from honda 1997

Could be two different problems.
If the check engine light is not on, I would look at the vapor canister for the gas tank. Its usually mounted in the engine compartment.
If you have a small oil leak, the fumes will be sucked into the passenger compartment thru the cowl vents.

Gas/oil smell coming in through heater

there is a opening somewhere under your hood in the area of the blower motor casing that is causing the smell. it is highly unlikely but possible that you have an oil leak but i dont think you have a gas leak. get it checked anyway to be safe. good luck

sometimes if a fuel pressure regulator goes bad , you will be able to smell fuel fumes under hood. a leaking pressure regulator will cause---hard starting, poor fuel economy, stalling, check engine light, gas smell under hood. also check all fuel lines under hood.
