Question about 2007 Toyota Corolla

Pressure cylinoid My 2007 Toyota Corolla is throwing a pressure cylinoid code. What is that and how much does it cost? My check engine light keeps coming on when it is being driven but when I left it in the garage for a week it turned itself off. It also starts feeling jerky when shifting gears after it is hot.

UPGRADED TO SAFETY RECALL...

There is currently a recall going on for this problem. You can likely get your money back on the prior repairs as well. See this link http://www.toyota.com/recall/corolla-matrix.html. On the left-hand side, you can click to take you to put in your VIN and see if your vehicle is included. My 2007 vehicle IS included, and I just had the check engine light come on and have been experiencing rough shifting for about 6 months. When the light came on yesterday, it was extremely rough jerky shifting. The light went off today. Took it to Autozone and got same code P2716. Toyota has assigned me a case number, but I won't get a call back until Monday or by close of biz on Tuesday. This problem can cause your car to not start, or to shut down while driving. YIKES! The person I talked to at Toyota acted a little too nonchalant about the whole deal. Telling me to just wait for the call that I will get. She said most dealers would not have the part needed to fix this. According to what I have read. That is the reason why Toyota is not sending out the notification letters to the affected parties until mid-September. Check out all the info and good luck. I am a little bit p.o'd about this right now. - Natalie

2005 thru 2007 Toyota Corolla "Harsh Shift" condition

There is a known issue with the 2005-2007 Corolla automatic transmission shift logic. The shift points may seem harsh, and the Check Engine light may be illuminated.

There is a technical service bulletin published (TC015-07) that will address and rectify this condition.

The diagnostic code P2716 will be stored in the computer memory. The procedure involves replacing the Engine Control Module (the computer) with an updated unit.

The repair is covered, under the factory warranty, for 96 months, or 80,000 miles, which ever comes first.

I hope that this helps Corolla owners out.

Regards,

Toyota Ed

Engine light comes on in my 2007 Toyota Corolla. engine backfires and smokes after starting. have had trouble starting engine after refueling.

The FIRST step is to scan your engine computer to retrieve fault codes and see why the computer has turned the check engine light on. Without the fault codes, anybody could GUESS what is wrong with your car for weeks and not get it right!

My Toyota Corolla engine stops when I'm not accelerating often nowadays when I'm driving

If you mean that the engine dies at idle, check the idle air control valve (IDAC). Is your check engine light on? Bad IDAC usually throws a CEL code. Have it read with a code reader.

Check engine light keeps coming on. auto has been to dealer 7 times and $600.00 repairs and the light still comes on. canister assemble, hoses valves, vacuum switch and new gas cap replaced . it seems that...

first of all, please stop spending your money. you can't keep throwing things at it and expect something to be fixed. take your car to a shop and ask them to scan your vehicle with OBD 2(on board diagnostics) and it will read out a code and they will know what is wrong . if you do that post the code if you need any further assistance
