Describe your 1997 Chrysler Town & Country Problem battery went out and replaced battery instrument cluster (guages) freaked out it they worked then they didnt and now dont even work at all HELP

The problem is your instrument cluster. Your type of vehicle is notorious for the instrument cluster failing. It will need replaced, or rebuilt.

We have had this problem as well. Chrysler is well aware of the issue. It is the instrument cluster behind the dash. Don't let them tell you it's the Body Control Module...it's not. If you bang on the dash just above the guage cluster, it will usually start or simply unhook your battery and let it sit for a bit and it should start after the alarm resets. It's a 15 minute fix to take the dash off and replace that instrument cluster. We paid WAY more money to have the BCM replaced and it didn't fix it and the dealership refused to refund us and fix the right thing without charging us more.

the cluster is the speedometer,and the odometer,and gauges and lights,there is no panel to access the cluster,it will have to be removed.

a scanner that gets into the instrument cluster computer can reset the needles. or take the dash apart and manually turn dash cluster upsidedown, then the needles will move so rotate untill the needles are reset.

Did this happen after the batt was replaced, the BCM controlls the cluster illumination, radio, evic, might be issue there, there is a software update for this module 2001-2002, if not , only half of lights work, sounds like the rest are burnt out, R+R the cluster and replace the bulbs, get them from Dodge, GOOD LUCK, RDJRP

You need to replace the whole assembly. It comes as a motor/regulator.

Battery is weak.

It sounds like the rheostat on the sending unit is going bad. I would suggest replacing the fuel pump and all at the same time.It will save you from going back in the tank.

Probably too late but I had the same problem yesterday. Try changing your battery. It sounds crazy but it worked for me.
