It shoud have R134a, I would use a recharge kit. If you have a slow leak this will only be a temporary fix. They usually sell a kit with a dye inside the can, If you use that you should be able to locate where the leak is.

My house in florida does not have any cold air coming from the air conditioning

Common sense tells you, if you have to add refrigerant
to any type of A/C System, that you have a leak that needs to be
repaired first.

You could have a bad condenser fan motor, compressor,
expansion valve,any number of things

Every year BEFORE you need the A/C, you should have
a company that comes by & goes over that unit for you

You can still be at your permanent residence when they
check it out.

A/c not blowing cold a/c light comes on but no cold air

Hi,

When your car air conditioning is blowing hot air, this means that refrigerant cannot absorb the heat coming from your car passenger compartment.

This kind of problem often cause by a refrigerant leak or a clogged condenser.

If you have a steady reduction of cold air from your car air conditioning system, the possibility is that the refrigerant is slowly leaking out of the hose or seal.

Another reason for the gradual reduction of cold air produce by your car air conditioning system is the clogged condenser but this is only a contributing factor.

To solve the problem you are experiencing, you must first check the condenser for dirt, debris or bug that is building up outside the car condenser, this is the part that is like a mini-radiator mounted in front of your car radiator;

Try to clean this with a soft brush also, spraying with pressurized water will do. This will improve your car air conditioning problem.

However,if the problem persists,it means you have to refill your airconditioner compressor with a refrigerant(freon gas).

Good luck!!!

I have a 1998 Lumina and the air conditioner doesn't blow cool or cold air. It has refridgerant in it. The air compressor kicks on and off, what else could the problem be?

Is the refrigerant full, if not the air will not be cold and sometimes when real low it won't blow cool air at all. Be sure to check the level with a gauge and this will give you a more of an idea.

Is the compressor engaging? If not he needs to find if a sensor issue if its fully charged or a low pressure or refrigerant condition. You can have pressure without refrigerant.

Air conditioning was blowing cold air for 2 months since purchased, air has been warming up in the past 2 weeks. Does it just need to be charged?

It sounds right. You can buy one of those "Gas it yourself" cans with the hose already on it at your local wally world. Just be sure to pay attention to the little guage on the hose. Overcharging can be dangerous. It sould have a green acceptable area between 25-32 pounds.
